でも何よりそんな事情より、小さなホイールと(アンバランスとも言える)本格的なツーリングフレームが上手く噛み合ってる様子が前例の無い可愛さで🫨

こちらは幡ヶ谷店メカニックのミンミンが組み立てを担当してくれた店頭車両

気が向いたらすぐ日常から飛び出せる、所々でダート遊びを意識したパーツチョイスは、ニュートリノの持ち味を活かしたいメカニック的発想

ハンドルはミンミン×Outside supplyのライザーバー。製造はUSAの老舗BMXブランドS*M Bikes

下地のクロモリが透けたRAWカラーは(既にマニアックだけど)徐々に錆が広がるアフターエフェクトで一層ハードな雰囲気に

両サイドを少しカットするのがオフロードでも街乗りでもコントロールしやすくなる秘訣なんだとか

オールドスクールなBMXグリップやプラペダルを合わせる感じは無理なく気取らずのミンミンらしさ。サドルとコラムスペーサーでワンラブ感

The Velo Orange Neutrino taught us the practicality and possibilities of Mini-Velos.

For riders with limited storage space at home or at work, it's actually a really practical bike.

This bike was built by Ming, the mechanic staff at the Hatagaya store. It’s built with parts that you can hop on and cruise in the city, but also able to fool around in the dirt.

The handlebar is the Outside Supply x Bike Therapy bar that Ming designed and was made by the legendary BMX brand, S*M Bikes.

Apparently, trimming a little off each side of the handlebar makes the bike easier to control, whether you're riding off-road or around town.

Pairing old-school BMX grips with plastic flat pedals gives the bike an effortless, unpretentious vibe that's very "Ming.”

The matching saddle and headset spacers tie the whole build together perfectly.

夏のライドはもちろんアウトドアやアクティビティにぴったりな日除け付きキャップ

ファッションのスタイルとしても定着してきてるこの形。元をたどると軍用として生まれ徐々にアウトドア業界に広まっていったと言うのだから、そりゃ調子良いワケで

休みの日にロングライドやキャンプで使ってるスタッフもちらほらいて実際チャリ用にもバッチリ。との事で、折角なのでオリジナルで作ってみました

今の気分を汲んだ6色展開。カラーによってサイドはメッシュ仕様orアイレットの2タイプ。生地はサラッと軽い薄手のナイロン

ひらひら部分は見ての通りだけど、ツバも柔らかい素材で作られているので、折りたたんでフレームバッグやファニーパックにスタンバイさせとく、なんて賢いやり方も

ちなみにセントくんが被ってる日除け無しのduckbill capも再入荷してる様なので、お好きな方をどうぞ

These types of hats have become staple in the outdoor gear industry. They’ve also become quite popular in fashion too.

Apparently, the origin of shade hats goes back to old army wear. They eventually made its way into the outdoor gear market.

Some of our staffs were wearing these types of hats on bike rides and looked pretty dang nice for riding, so we made our own.

We got a total of 6 variations. 3 colors in normal side panels, and 3 colors in side mesh panels.

The brims are soft, so you can easily fold it up and stow it in bags, pockets, etc. We now have them available on the website.

The newly redesigned Surly Straggler gravel frame has been talked a lot among bike enthusiasts. This customer build features the rare previous-generation frame, customized into a clean single-speed setup.

Produced during the transition to Surly's new platform, this version came with a unique horizontal sliding dropout. The extended dropout allows for easy chain tension adjustment, making single-speed conversions incredibly simple.

Often described as a disc brake version of the Cross-Check, the comparison is pretty spot on. Its longer top tube geometry pairs especially well with flat bars or sweep bars, making it an ideal platform for an Everyday Bike build.

The one component the owner had to have was the Ultradynamico ROSE tires. It's a perfect choice, offering a well-balanced ride on both pavement and dirt.It would have been easy to continue matching other components, but instead the build keeps things refined by letting only the vibrant green Phil Wood headset add a pop of color, a tasteful touch that's worth taking inspiration from.

With the component selection kept intentionally simple, the Fairweather frame bag stands out even more.
While a Porter Rack or basket would certainly add everyday practicality and carrying capacity, there's something especially appealing about a bike this clean and lightweight. It looks like the kind of bike that reminds you just how much fun riding can be.

プロトタイプが完成したのが一年半ほど前

ミンミン自ら毎日どこ行くのにもOFF PACKを使って検証して、試作に試作を重ねようやく満足のいく出来に

特に輪行でライドに出かける事が多かった彼にとって、バッグやパニアを装備したバイクを運ぶのがハードルで、だったらその装備、自分で背負っちゃえば良くない？てのがこのOFF PACK誕生のきっかけ

ネーミング”OFF”の由来は、自転車から離れた状態(OFF)でも調子良いのとOFF ROADと、あと”デイ”パックがあるなら”オフ”パックがあっていいのでは？て事らしい。”18”は容量の18リットルから

A new backpack from Fairweather called “Off Pack 18” is making its debut.
Our mechanic staff Ming, who’s been going many bikepacking trips has designed this one from scratch.

The name “OFF PACK 18” comes from “taking off” (removing gear from your bike), “getting off the bike”, “backing off” (stepping back from overly functional gear), “off-road. bike riding” and for your “days off.”

Basically, it’s a backpack for both daily life and the fun times you spend on the weekends. Combining this with its 18 liter capacity, he named it the “Off Pack 18”.

When using public transportation with a bike, it’s sometimes a pain to have all these big bags on the bike itself. In these situations, Ming would just put some of his stuff in a backpack and carry it on his back. This way, carrying a bike around in public transports is easier and steering the bike becomes easier when you don’t have heavy stuff around the cockpit.

最近あまり見かけなくなった？昔ながらのサイクルキャプ。オリジナルで作るのは相当久しぶりな気がする

晴れでも雨でもロングライドにはマストな装備。特徴の短いツバは風でブワッとならないし視界も良好

どれも薄手のコットンか速乾性の生地で結構涼しいし、汗どめとして大変優秀(走ってるときタオルで顔拭う余裕は無い)

シュッとしたデザインのヘルメットの下から、ちょっと派手とかカワイイとかのインナーキャップをチラ見せするのがサイクリストの嗜み

ややアレなデザインもご用意しておきました。自転車用でもそうでなくても楽しんで頂けたら😉

Classic cycling caps seem to be getting harder to find these days.
It's been a while since we made our original one.

Whether it's sunny or raining, a cycle cap is a must-have for long rides.
The short brim won't flap around even in the wind, and it keeps your vision clearer.

Made from lightweight cotton or quick-drying fabric, they're surprisingly cool and comfortable.
They're also quite handy since there's no time to wipe your face with a towel while riding.

And yes... we've made some of the fun designs which you may notice the references.

⛺️BLACK MOUNTAIN CYCLES “MONSTERCROSS”⛰️

今年はじめてSwift Campoutに参加した代々木公園店スタッフのサンバほぼキャンプ未経験の都会っ子👶

旅の相棒に選んだのは普段から通勤に使ってるモンスタークロス。先輩のミンミンにおすすめされたキャンプ道具一式をパッキングすれば結構いい感じのアドベンチャー仕様に

スプーン(SP)型がユニークなFAIRWEATHERのフレームバッグはボトルケージとか他のオプションも併用できて今回のライドには最適

テントや着替えなどボリュームのあるものはハンドルとサドルバッグにバランス良く分散させて走りやすさを意識して

一緒にライドした他の皆んなの愛車が相当イケてたので、そちらもちゃっかりバイクチェック

各々スタイルがあってパッキングやキャンプライドの捉え方も違っていて、それがカスタムに反映されてるのが興味深いし、非常に参考になる🤔

夏本番はまだまだこれから。サンバみたいにしっかり準備してキャンプするのも良いし、輪行してサクッと自然を眺めてリフレッシュ。なんてのもきっと最高

結局自分にとって調子良い方法が正解です。好きな様に自転車と夏を楽しんじゃって下さい-

Samba is a city boy who experienced his first bike camp in this year’s Swift Campout👶

The bike he chose to ride on his adventure is the Black Mountain Cycles Monstercross that he rides daily. His co-worker Ming gave some tips on camping gear and turned his bike into a nice bikepacking set up.

The frame bag is the Fairweather Frame Bag SP. The “SP” stands for “Spoon” since it looks like a spoon from the side. The bag is shaped like this to have plenty of clearance around the bottle cage.

He loaded most the bulky items, such s tent, change of clothes and so on, to the big saddle bag, balancing out the weight for riding easily.

All of his friends who joined this trip had great looking rigs, so we put some shots on this post.

The 👀 on the dropout is a message saying “Don’t overthink and just enjoy riding” from this frame.

This is the Fairweather T.I.E. designed by one of our mechanic staffs who thinks about bicycles all day long, everyday. Having his roots on single speed bikes, of course the first bike he ever designed is a single speed frame. Single speeds are simple and always fun to ride.

This one was built for our customer, who wanted a simple bike with parts of our choice. He wasn’t really all in for getting a new bike, but he says he somehow ended up buying one after seeing a display bike of this frame.

The loud freewheel is made Kuwahara and have been a staple of loud and great sounding freewheels. Those gray Velocity rims are a special color they made for us.

Kaneyan says there’s a lot of meanings to T.I.E. but “Take It Easy” sounds best.

Passific Brewing is located in the Chigasaki area, surrounded by nature. Their company name is a play on words, combining “Pass” (mountain pass) and “Pacific”. They are currently brewing an original beer for Blue Lug🤤

The concept of the beverage is “beer that we want to drink every day” - sort of a self reference to the Everyday Bike builds that we usually do here.
Combining the painstaking process of brewing with cycling, we’ve named it “Long Way Spin”

To celebrate the launch of our new beer, we’re hosting an event at Lug Hatagaya on Sunday, August 2, from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
It’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy our fresh beer on tap or in cute labeled cans, while savoring perfectly paired snacks and delicious dishes.

We also made some limited merch in collaboration with Passific Brewing. We made the Bike Pockets, reflectors and some stickers. The stickers will be given out at the event.

🌶️RASTA EQUAL & LIGHTNING SADDLE⚡️

いつもの様にメカニックピットの端っこでワイワイやってるうち、思いつきで生まれたラスタカラーのEQUAL
自転車パーツでは時たま見かけるカラーリングだけど、ここまでごちゃっとジャンクな入り組み方で
しかも3パターンってのも中々ないのでは？？
好評でしばらく在庫を切らしていただのだけど(組み合わせるの大変で🫠)ようやくご用意できました

タイトなフレーム台座にも収まるコンパクトさと、何より調整のしやすさもあって、
気付けばBLUE LUGメカニック御用達。肝心のブレーキの効きはしっかりしてるけど
カーブが穏やかでコントロールしやすくて、マニュアルな操作感が好きな僕らには好都合

サドルの方は大阪の老舗 クワハラさんに色別注したBLUE LUG仕様

ヴィンテージのBMXで見る様な、イナズマプリントがオールドスクール感満載
厚めのパッドが入っていて乗り心地も上々で、ゆったりポジションのバイクにも良さそう

グレーのサドルって結構合わせやすいのに案外無くて。モノトーンでも作ってみました
ちょっと遊び心でトラックバイクとか、速い系ロードに使ってみるのもアリ😉

One day our mechanics were messing around in the workshop, combining different color parts of the Equal disc brake calipers, and we thought it would be fun to have the Rasta color combo available for the shop and they sold out! We finally were able to make a few of them again, so they are now restocked on the shop shelves🫠 (no international shipping, sorry)

Thanks to its compact size, it fits nicely on tight brake mounts and, they’re easy to work on.
They have become the go-to choice for Blue Lug mechanics. The braking performance is solid and easy to control, which is perfect for us who prefer a manual feel.

We also have these Kuwahara saddles, which they let us pick color-ways.

We’re a big fan of the lighting bolt graphic on the size, which brings back the vintage BMX vibes. They’re nice and cushy, so they feel perfect on a cruiser build.

Gray saddles are surprisingly not easy to find these days, even though they look great with a lot of frame colors. The saddles are available for international shipping and listed on the website😉
