📍滋賀県観光スポット紹介
🚵LAGO 大津
大津港に位置するビワイチバイクを出発し、湖岸をのんびり15分ほど南に漕ぎ進むと見えてくる緑に覆われた建物が LAGO大津です。
この季節は青々と茂った緑と湖面のきらめきを同時に楽しむことができるスポットです。
建物内ではバームクーヘンや和菓子などのお土産品を購入できたり、スイーツを味わうことができます。

少し先に進むと自転車置き場や公衆トイレもあるため、近江大橋にさしかかる前の休憩場所にもぴったりです。

🚵LAGO Otsu
After departing from Biwaichibike, which is located at Otsu port, pedal a bicycle leisurely for about 15 minutes, and you can see the building that is covered with green.

It is LAGO Otsu.
You will find the beautiful contrast between the grass and the lake in summertime.
In the store, you can buy confectionery for souvenirs.
There is also an eat-in space for having tea and snacks.

If you go a little ahead, you can find bicycle parking spaces and public restrooms.
It is a good place to take a rest before crossing the Omi-ohashi Bridge.

🚲 堅田を過ぎると、ビワイチはいよいよ終盤へ。

ここからは、高速コースと低速コースに分かれ、あなたのペースで自由に選べます。

低速コースでは、広がる田園風景を眺めながら、少しずつ変化していく地形を楽しむことができます。🌾

……ただし、ひとつだけ注意。

体力があと少しで限界、というタイミングでは要注意です。

「もうすぐゴール」と思ったところで、
サプライズのように目の前に現れるアップダウン。

さらに進めば、くねくねと続く林道に入り、
気づけば深い森の中へ。🌲

そして最後には、
西教寺や日吉大社など、比叡山のふもとに残る
いにしえの街並みが現れます。

森を抜け、歴史の道を走り、
少しずつ人の暮らしへと戻っていく。

自然から歴史へ。
そして、再び文明へ。

ビワイチの終盤には、
そんな不思議な「旅の帰還」のような景色があります。

最後まで気を抜かず、
でも最後まで楽しんでね。

Eventually, the forests give way to the historic streets around the foot of Mt. Hiei, passing places like Saikyo-ji Temple and Hiyoshi Taisha Shrine.

🚲 ビワイチを走る皆さまへ、ちょっとした注意喚起です。

琵琶湖一周の中には、舗装路から歩道、湖岸の細い道まで、実にさまざまな路面コンディションがあります。

その中でも今回、特に気をつけていただきたいのが、
歩道から車道へ合流する場所にある小さな段差。

普段なら何気なく通過できるような段差でも、
雨の日は路面が濡れて、タイヤが滑りやすくなっています。

特に前輪が段差に斜めに入ったり、滑ったりすると、
思わぬ転倒やトラブルにつながることがあります。

🌧️ 雨の日はスピードを落として、段差の手前ではしっかり減速。
できるだけ車体を安定させて、慎重に通過してください。

ビワイチは、ただ距離を走破するだけではなく、
琵琶湖の景色を楽しみながら旅するもの。

The official Biwaichi route has been carefully developed and maintained across Shiga, but riding around Lake Biwa means encountering all kinds of road surfaces — from smooth roads to shared paths and narrower lakeside sections.

One thing we especially want cyclists to watch out for is the small step where a sidewalk section meets the road.

It may look harmless in dry conditions, but when it rains, the wet surface can become surprisingly slippery.

If your front wheel hits the edge at an angle or loses grip,
a seemingly tiny bump can lead to a sudden fall.

🌧️ When the road is wet, slow down before the step and keep your bike steady as you pass.

A Biwaichi ride isn't just about completing the distance.
It's about enjoying the lake, the scenery, and the journey along the way.

今週はスタッフの一人が、インバウンド観光の大切な市場のひとつ、台湾・台北へ宣伝活動に行ってきました！

自転車旅行の文化が根付く台湾で、
大津市観光と「ビワイチ」の魅力をもっとたくさんの方々に知っていただくため、数日間「チーム大津」の一員として活動してきました。

そして、ちょっと意外だったのが……

南国・台湾なのに、なんと滋賀より暑さが控えめ！？😳☀️

まさか台湾で涼しさを感じるとは……。

さて、滋賀ももう少し残暑を乗り越えれば、
気温が少しずつ過ごしやすくなり、いよいよ秋のサイクリングシーズンへ。

📍滋賀県観光スポット紹介
🍃石山寺
大津の南端、瀬田川のほとりに位置する石山寺は奈良時代の747年に創建された寺院です。
紫式部を始めとした多くの女流文学者が滞在し、作品を執筆していたことでも有名です。

現存する東大門は1190年に建築され、安土桃山時代から江戸時代初期にあたる慶長年間（1596〜1615年）に大規模な修理・改造が加えられたと伝わっており、当時の建築様式がうかがえます。

市街地から自転車で石山寺へ向かうと、ちょうど瀬田川沿いの景色を楽しめます。
多くの文学者が愛した風景を眺めながら、水辺の涼風を楽しむサイクリングはいかがでしょうか。

🍃Ishiyamadera Temple
Ishiyamadera Temple is located on the banks of the Seta River.
It was founded in 747.

It is famous as a place where many female Japanese writers—most notably Murasaki Shikibu, who wrote "The Tale of Genji" in the early 11th century.
Many literary figures stayed and penned their literary works there.

The temple's existing East Gate (Todaimon), which stands facing the river, was originally built in 1190.
It is said to have undergone extensive repairs and modifications during the Keicho era (1596–1615)—spanning the transition from the Azuchi-Momoyama to the early Edo period.
You can see the architectural styles of that time from it.

If you cycle from the city center to Ishiyama-dera, you can enjoy views of the Seta River along the way.
Why not take a bike ride to enjoy the cool breeze by the water while gazing at the beautiful landscape that is loved by so many literary figures?

🚴南湖一周コース　📍立ち寄りスポット紹介
🚲近江大橋

琵琶湖を横断する2つの橋のうち、南側に位置する近江大橋。
大津市と草津市をつなぐ全長1,290mの橋です。
大津市側、北側の側道にはナショナルサイクルルートのマークもあり、自転車道が整備されています。
湖を渡る風を浴びながらビワイチならではのサイクリングが楽しめるスポットです♪

🚲Omi-ohashi Bridge
Only two bridges cross Lake Biwa.
The Omi-ohashi Bridge is one of the bridges located on the southern side.
It is a 1,290m long bridge connecting Otsu City and Kusatsu City.
On the Otsu City side—the northern side—the service road features the National Cycle Route symbol and has a dedicated bike path.
It’s a great spot to enjoy a cycling experience iconic to the lakeside tour while feeling the breeze across the lake♪
