Yesterday, a fellow business owner who’s always been so kind to us contacted me, asking, “We don’t deliver to Kamijima Town—would you be able to handle it for us?” I replied, “Yes! I’d be happy to!!” and made the delivery from Setoda to Yuge Island.

This delivery marked our very first job since launching our personal parcel delivery service.

I’m truly grateful for this opportunity.

A short while after the delivery, I received a message from the hotel where the package was delivered asking, “Is it possible for you to deliver to a hotel in Onomichi tomorrow as well?”
“Yes! With pleasure‼️”

I delivered the package directly to the customer at the specified time. When I mentioned that this was our very first customer since launching the service, they smiled and said, “Thank you for the great service. I’ll be back to the Shimanami Kaido again!”

To all of you who cycle regularly:
You enjoyed your ride along the Shimanami Kaido and arrived safely at your lodging.

In the evening, when I stopped by the inn to set up my battery charger, they invited me to join them for tea, saying, “We’re just about to make some tea—if you have time, please join us.” Although we used a translation app, we shared a very enjoyable and happy time talking about cycling and other topics.

I’ve added another place to my list of places I want to visit again!

I went to France for the first time this past January.
When I told people it was “just one day” 😅,
they’d say, “What?! Just one day?! That’s such a short stay!” and smile 😊

My first time cycling the Shimanami Kaido.

Please ride safely and have fun!

[Notice]
During the Silver Week period (September 19–20), advance reservations for in-store rentals and returns are not available.
For the delivery plan, advance reservations are possible for morning deliveries to the Onomichi area and afternoon pickups in the Imabari area.
From September 21–23, advance reservations are available for both in-store rentals and returns as well as the delivery plan.

Availability is running low, but please feel free to contact us with any questions.

A 3-day bike trip from Onomichi to Imabari

Back at the shop, handling reservations and inquiries

A customer who used our services four years ago will be visiting us again this fall.

Apparently, a colleague who had previously used “Tavitas” recommended it to them, saying, “If you’re going to the Shimanami Kaido, Tavitas is the way to go.”

We’re so happy to hear this, and we’re truly grateful.

In the evening, a family visiting from the UK 🇬🇧 used our hourly bike rental service.

It rained partway through their ride, but they told us with big smiles, “We had so much fun!”

Thank you very much for using our service.

There are still plenty of available dates for bike rentals, so please feel free to contact us.

After finishing up my work, I went out for my usual evening walk and suddenly came face-to-face with a huge herd of wild boars.

I panicked and ran away to avoid being attacked, so I could only take one photo, but there were definitely more than 10 of them.

It’s been seven years since I opened my shop in Setoda.

This was the first time I’ve ever seen a wild boar in the shopping district—and a huge herd at that! 🐗

予約・問い合わせが増えてきました。

ありがたい限りです。

春の繁忙期よりも手伝ってくれるスタッフが増えましたので、春よりも対応できる件数が増えました。

そして10月からロードバイク(アルミフレーム)のレンタルも開始します。

台数は少ないですが、提携事業者様とも連携して、皆様のご要望にお応えできるよう努めてまいります。

Starting tomorrow, we’ll gradually be entering the busy fall season.

We’ve been receiving more reservations and inquiries.

We’re truly grateful.

We have more staff helping out than during the busy spring season, so we’re able to handle more requests than we did then.

Also, starting in October, we’ll begin renting road bikes (aluminum frames).

Although the number of bikes is limited, we’ll be working closely with our partner businesses to do our best to meet your needs.

After running some errands and getting back to the office to catch up on paperwork, I was delighted to see a customer I hadn’t seen in a while.

Thank you so much for ordering so many Shishi Lemon T-shirts.

Due to staff shortages, we aren’t actively selling Shishi Lemon merchandise right now, but someday we hope to establish a dedicated “Shishi Lemon Sales Department” to better meet the expectations of all you Shishi Lemon fans? 💦

The heat has eased up a bit, and it’s now the perfect season for cycling.

Thanks to your support, Tabitasu Tours has seen an increase in reservations for bike rentals and guided tours.
While there are still available dates, please note that our schedule will be irregular during Silver Week (September 19–23) and on October 25 (Cycling Shimanami 2026).

September 19–20
Delivery Plan: Delivery is available only in Onomichi in the morning; pickup is available only in Imabari in the afternoon.

In-Store Pickup and Return Plan: Reservations not available

September 19–23
Delivery Plan: Delivery and pickup are available in all areas

In-Store Pickup and Return Plan: Reservations accepted

October 25
Due to the Cycling Shimanami 2026 event, the expressway will be closed from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Therefore, bike rental deliveries will not be available.

If you wish to use the Delivery Plan, please request delivery on October 24.
*Pickup will be available starting in the afternoon of October 25.

On October 25, reservations are available only for in-store pickup and return.

We still have bicycles available, so please feel free to contact us.

Our guests who set out from Setoda on September 9.

They finished the trip in Imabari safely and without any injuries!

In my Stories the day before, I’d posted, “Welcome from the Hokuriku region!” But one of them replied, “I’m actually from Malaysia 🇲🇾 😊.”
Their Japanese was so fluent that I’d assumed both of them were Japanese—my apologies for the misunderstanding.

They smiled and said, “We had a great time without getting rained on for two days.”

What wonderful guests!
I’m grateful to have been able to help make their special trip a success.
