Club Background

Welcome to Paddy Foleys Cricket Club Cricket Club, named after the famous Irish pub located in the heart of Roppongi, Tokyo. The team was formed in 2005 by a bunch of guys who either worked or drank at the pub. Spending time together watching the 2005 Ashes and other series and talking cricket in general, most had played in their younger days, the idea was thrown up to form a team

, and so Paddy Foleys Cricket club was born. The first seasons were tough, with most guys not having played for years they were severely short of both match practice and fitness. Many also had trouble combining their new sports schedule with their entertainment schedule - it was not unusual for players to literally walk straight from the pub at early morning closing and onto the bus for cricket. Well since then we have grown a bit, although we still pride ourselves on being a team that enjoys ourselves as much off the field as on and you will often find us enjoying a drink at Paddys, especially after winning games. In 2008 we achieved our first ever competition wins picking up two trophies the Japan Cup and the Golden Bat. We then backed that up with two titles in 2009, defending the Japan Cup and winning the Japan Cricket League Division 2 title. As a club we are always looking for new members, anyone interested in playing or finding out more information please mail or phone us.

Elizabeth of the Trinity, born Élisabeth Catez was a French Carmelite nun and religious writer. Elizabeth entered the Dijon Carmel on August 2, 1901. She said, "I find Him everywhere while doing the wash as well as while praying." Her time in the Carmel had some high times as well as some very low times. Today, we know about all that she felt and experienced in her writings. Elizabeth died at the age of 26 from Addison's disease, which in the early 20th century had no treatment.

This is a massive boost for the Paddys club who is working tirelessly behind the scenes to build a sustainable structure and a process.
