International School of Nagano - ISN ISN is an IB candidate school (July 2017). ISN also offers swimming, music, physical education, tennis, arts and crafts and intensive private English lessons.

😉 Our school has about 320 students and counting, from 0 years old to middle school. ISN (International School of Nagano) is an English-Japanese, bilingual preschool and elementary school situated in Matsumoto City in Japan’s beauti

ful Nagano Prefecture, serving families in Matsumoto and surrounding communities. With seven, great capacity classrooms plus a play-castle playground in our Minami-Matsumoto Campus (preschool), we will open a second campus in Shimauchi (preschool and elementary school) and in 2017 we are enrolling students from 2 years old, up to and including Grade 4. We are a wonderfully diverse school, currently serving about 120 students with a vibrant and dedicated faculty, devoted parents, and a committed Board of Education. ISN’s teacher to student ratio is on average 1:15 and this exceptionally low ratio enables our experienced teachers to readily conduct an IB based approach to the curriculum. The main duty of the teacher is to lead their class with excitement and passion for a world standard education, while implementing an enquiry-based approach to instruction.

0歳からの国際教育、いよいよ始動。

＼ ISN佐久切原キャンパス 入園式開催 ／

📅 2026年4月3日(金)
旧切原小学校跡地に誕生する新キャンパスで、ISN初となる「0歳からの一貫教育」がスタートします。
🚌 御代田町へのスクールバス送迎の運行も決定！
当日は佐久市長・栁田清二氏も登壇。
地域と教育が手を取り合い、未来のグローバルリーダー育成への想いを発信します。
さらに式典後は、校舎を地域に開放し、フードワゴンを招いた交流会も開催🍴
「学校は地域コミュニティのハブ」というISNの理念を体現する1日に。

A new campus opens on the former Kirihara Elementary School site, launching ISN’s first continuous education program from infancy.
Mayor Seiji Yanagida will join us to share a vision of collaboration between the city and education for future global leaders.
After the ceremony, the campus will open to the community with food trucks and a casual gathering 🍴
A day that brings our vision of a “community-centered school” to life.
