A lovely couple visiting from LA! 💕
She had a stunning diamond ring on her left ring finger 💎! Though neither was wearing a band yet, when I asked, “Are you engaged?” they shared that they had recently gotten engaged. Seeing a sweet couple who have just promised their future together truly brings so much joy and happiness 🥰
Even though there were 5 different flower materials to choose from, this close couple ended up choosing very similar styles. Great minds think alike, or as we say in Japan, ishin-denshin (telepathy) ✨
They were deeply interested in Japanese culture, so I enjoyed sharing a lot of our history with them.
After the lesson, they mentioned they’d love to have a noren (traditional shop curtain) like the one at our entrance, so I took them to a renowned noren company that shops all over Japan order from. I learned that hand-woven h**p noren have skyrocketed in price recently and might soon exceed ¥50,000 each—so I couldn’t resist buying a new summer noren for myself as well!
Last night, she reached out to let me know they booked our Tea Ceremony experience for tomorrow.
I can’t wait to see them again! 💕
