私には、学び続ける場所があります。
インド南部・ケーララ州。
そこに、私の学舎であり道場でもあるMadhava Matam CVN Kalari Ayurvedic centre മാധവ മഠം സി. വി. എൻ. കളരി ആയുർവേദിക് സെൻ്റർがあります。
伝統武術 カラリパヤットゥ とともに受け継がれてきたオイルトリートメント「ウリチル」、そして長年大切に守られてきた マルマ の智慧を、Dr. Gowthaman氏から学んでいます。
最初は、なぜ武術の練習が施術に必要なのか分かりませんでした。
けれど、カラリパヤットゥの練習を重ね、インドから持ち帰った施術やオイルを日々の臨床の中で積み重ねるうちに、その意味が少しずつ見えてきたように思います。
Gurukkalはいつも私にこう言います。
「この智慧は、あなたの周りの人を、きっと豊かで幸せにするでしょう。」
その言葉を胸に、私はいつも目の前のクライアントへ手を添えています。
Born to be - yoga and relax - の施術には、私自身の経験だけではなく、この伝統への敬意と、インドで受け継がれてきた智慧が息づいています。

I have a place where I continue to learn.
In the southern Indian state of Kerala, there is my school and dojo, Madhava Matam CVN Kalari Ayurvedic Centre (മാധവ മഠം സി. വി. എൻ. കളരി ആയുർവേദിക് സെൻ്റർ).
There, I study the traditional wisdom of Uzhichil, a therapeutic oil treatment passed down through generations alongside Kalaripayattu, as well as the profound knowledge of Marma, under the guidance of Dr. Gowthaman Gurukkal.
At first, I could not understand why the practice of martial arts was essential to this therapy.
However, as I continued my Kalaripayattu training and applied the treatments and oils I had brought back from India in my daily clinical practice, I gradually began to understand their deeper meaning.
Gurukkal always tells me,
“This wisdom will surely enrich the lives of the people around you and bring them happiness.”
I carry those words with me every time I place my hands on a client.
The treatments at Born to be – yoga and relax – are shaped not only by my own experience, but also by my deep respect for this tradition and the wisdom that has been carefully preserved and passed down in India.
