We have another spectacular waterfall for you today.

Shira Ito Waterfall is part of the Mount Fuji Cultural Site listed under UNESCO and has also been designated a National Scenic Beauty.

Thanks in part to the large number of negative ions created by the 150m wide falls, this is one of the most tranquil spots you'll find in Japan.

Every year the majestic icicles at Misitsuchi are lit up in different colours. The result is more magical than Disney!

If you would like to see it for yourself the event is being held until February 20th. 17:00~19:00 weekdays, and 17:00~20:00 on weekends and holidays.

Parking is available at ウッドルーフ奥秩父オートキャンプ場

Fun fact, Mitsumata has traditionally been used to make paper in Japan, hence the name Oriental Paperbush. ⁠

3月中旬になると写真のように綺麗に咲くみたいです🌷⁠

枝が３つに分かれて成長します。よーくみたら、⁠
全部３つに分かれてました!　生命の神秘😯⁠

また高級和紙の原料でもあるらしいです📄⁠

You can find Oriental Paperbush (Mitsumata ミツマタ) on the Tsutsuji-shindo trail up to Hinokiboramaru.
