Evergreen’s Chief Guide and founder, Dave, recently led a wonderful father and son team from Finland on a private mountaineering adventure to the iconic Hakuba Sanso.
(A mountain hut with over 100 years of history)🏔️

The small team climbed Hakuba’s legendary Great Snow Valley in superb spring conditions, making their way to the summit of Mount Shirouma (White Horse Peak) at 2,932m. The mountains truly delivered — beautiful weather, crisp alpine air, and panoramic views stretching from the Sea of Japan to the Southern Japan Alps. After witnessing a stunning sunset and spending the night in the historic mountain hut, they woke to an unforgettable sunrise before setting off to summit Mount Shakushi following a hearty mountain breakfast.

The descent brought even more adventure: short-roping down steep snowfields, practising glacier travel and rescue skills, and crossing crystal-clear creeks fed by the melting alpine snow, before finally returning to the lush green forests far below.

A true mountain adventure and lasting memories for the whole family.
