【花キューピットオープン2021の開催中止について】
公益財団法人日本テニス協会はWTAと協議を重ねた結果、本年9月13日（月）から19日（日）まで、広島広域公園テニスコートで開催を予定していた「花キューピットジャパンウイメンズオープン2021」（WTA250）の開催中止を決定しました。
本協会はWTAとともに、新型コロナウイルスの感染状況を踏まえ、大会開催に向けて無観客や入場制限を含む様々な方策を探ってきました。しかし、一定期間の待機を求める現在の日本の入国制度の下では、WTAツアーの開催承認は難しく、選手や関係者の多くが海外から来日する大会の性質上、中止せざるを得ないとの結論に至りました。
本協会では新型コロナウイルスの感染状況を注視しながら、2022年の花キューピットオープンの開催に向けて全力を尽くしていく考えです。
CANCELLATION OF THE HANA-CUPID JAPAN WOMEN’S OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2021
The Japan Tennis Association (JTA) has decided to cancel the Hana-Cupid Japan Women's Open 2021 (WTA 250), which was scheduled to be held at the Hiroshima Regional Park Tennis Stadium from Monday, September 13 to Sunday, September 19, 2021 as a result of discussion with the WTA.
JTA, together with the WTA, has been exploring various measures and options, including matches behind closed doors and/or with restricted admission to hold the tournament in light of the situation of the COVID-19. However, under the current Japanese immigration system that requires a certain period of quarantine, it would be difficult for the WTA to approve to hold the event, due to the nature of the tournament, in which many of the players and officials will be coming from overseas. Therefore, we have come to the conclusion to cancel the tournament this year.
JTA will continue to monitor the spread of the COVID-19 and will do our best to hold the Hana-Cupid Open in 2022.
