The Tokyo Gaijin Rugby Football Club

The foremost amateur rugby club for gaijin & non-gaijin players in Tokyo, Japan.

The Tokyo Gaijin Rugby Football Club is an international rugby team in Tokyo consisting of amateur players. Truly a diverse and transient club, the majority of club members are expats from the Northern and Southern Hemisphere with roughly a third being made up of Japanese nationals. Prominent within the Tokyo rugby-playing community, TGRFC takes part in various competitions both at home and abroad

. If not playing competitive matches, the club trains regularly, play friendly matches and organize a number of social events throughout the year.
2011 marked TGRFC's 20th anniversary and also turned out to be one of the most successful seasons in club history in terms of match results. Though it wasn't reflected in silverware, 2012 also saw TGRFC field a powerful team which led to many comprehensive victories and standout individual displays. This year, the club will strive to continue enjoying more success both on and off the field.

“First off shout out to the gang each week we’re improving each week still got somethings to work on but still on the right path up. 1st Half we played great the hits and defense were what I’ve been asking for all month. Best first half we had in a while. 2nd half we fell flat on our faces. Black Bunnies had a good game plan they run there plays pretty well they wore us down. But overall I give the performance a solid B-. We coming out fire next week!

Today the boys showed grit and dug deep today with the limited amount of subs we had. We were down a couple times throughout the match but we battle out some good phases together and pulled through. We played a lot better than two weeks ago which I’m happy with the improvements but still a few things we can work on for next game. Special shoutout to Mase he played a great part of the win with winning the kicks out hitting and scoring as well! The Beers brought it to us but we responded will with a win so shout out to the Beers for a physical match up!! On to the next one!! LFG!!!!!

Tough one for the boys today the first half we played defense a lot the attack was limited and we made some mistakes but second half we cleaned it up still struggled but the attack and defense was a lot better so I’m proud of what we did towards the end. Next game is in two weeks so we’ll be better prepared for that!
