本日の稽古
9月1日（火）

本日から9月。初段審査会までちょうど2ヶ月となったYさん。
審査に向けての仕上げに入りました。

審査会はもちろん強制ではありませんが大きな意味があります。

① 自分の現在地を知ることができます。今の自分の技術や課題を確認できます。

② 「審査を受ける」という明確な目標があると、普段の稽古にも緊張感が生まれ、ただ形を覚えるだけでなく、姿勢・目付け・抜き付け・納刀・気迫など、細かな部分まで意識するようになります。

③ 審査会では緊張感があります。
その中で平常心を保ち、自分の動きを出す経験は、居合道の修行としてとても大切です。

大きな成長のためにさらに精進しましょう！

⚔️ Today’s Iaido Practice
September 1, 2026

September has begun—and Y-san is now just two months away from his 1st Dan examination.

Today, we entered the final stage of his preparation.

In Iaido, taking an examination is never compulsory.
But it can be a meaningful milestone in one’s journey as a martial artist.

① Know where you stand
An examination allows you to step back and honestly see your present level—your strengths, your weaknesses, and the areas that still need refinement.

② A clear goal changes your practice
Preparing for an examination gives purpose and focus to everyday training.
It is no longer simply about remembering the forms.

You begin to pay attention to every detail:
posture, eye focus, drawing the sword, returning the sword to the saya, breathing, timing, and spirit.

③ Learn to remain calm under pressure
An examination brings tension and nervousness.
Learning to maintain a calm mind and perform naturally despite that pressure is an essential part of the journey in Iaido.

The true goal is not simply to pass.

It is to grow through the process.

Let’s continue to train with dedication and take another step forward.
Keep practicing. Keep refining. Keep growing.

本日の稽古
8月25日（火）

本日はＴ顧問にマンツーマンで指導を受けたYさん。
ますます磨きがかかり、落ち着きと自信が感じられます。
コツコツと稽古を重ねてきた成果です。

そして、11/28に出演する中央区主催「中央区晴海まつり」での演武の見直し。
入場から演武への流れ、人の入れ替え、最後の魅せ方など確認しました。

Today’s Practice – August 25

Y-san had a one-on-one lesson with our advisor, T-sensei. His steady practice is paying off—his movements are becoming more polished, calm, and confident. Keep up the great work!

We also reviewed our performance for the Harumi Festival, hosted by Chuo City on November 28, including the entrance, transitions, and final presentation.

本日の稽古
8月22日（土）

本日は活気のある稽古場となりました。
女性がお二人体験にいらしてくださいました。
ご友人同士なので楽しみながら、そして熱心にトライしてくださいました。
キックボクシングや色々なスポーツを嗜んでいらっしゃるだけあり、とても勘が良くスムーズに動けます。

そして春に体験にいらしてくださったOさんが、入会してくださり初めての稽古となりました。
落ち着きと貫禄があり、すでに上級者の趣を持った方です。
一回目の稽古ですが、三級審査を目指して審査内容の形を覚えて頂きました。
来月には挑戦できる様に頑張りましょう！

入会してちょうど1年となったYさんは、すでに先輩として体験の方々に指導できる余裕が生まれました。素晴らしいです！

同じ目標を持ち、未来に向けて進んでいく仲間はかけがえのない宝です。
楽しく精進していきましょう！

Today’s Practice – August 22

Our dojo was full of energy today!
Two wonderful women joined us for a trial session. Friends who enjoy kickboxing and other sports, they picked up the movements quickly and practiced with great enthusiasm.

We were also delighted to welcome O-san, who first visited us in spring and has now joined Suirinkai. With her calm presence and natural dignity, she already has the air of an experienced practitioner. Today, she began learning the forms required for the 3rd Dan? 3rd Kyu examination, with the goal of taking the exam next month.

Y-san, who has been practicing with us for exactly one year, has grown into a wonderful senior member who can now comfortably guide our newcomers. Amazing progress!

Having companions who share the same goals and move forward together is a precious treasure.
Let’s continue to train, learn, and enjoy the journey together!

本日の稽古
8月4日（火）

本日は一本目から五本目までを、しっかり細かい部分を検証していきました。
目つけ、斬りつけはもちろん、居合腰と丹田の重要性。
足に負担をかけない立ち座り。
指一本を意識するだけで見違えるほど安定するコツ。
冴ある刀の振り方の手の内。
まだまだ奥深い学びは続きます。

11月に出演する中央区主催のイベントに向けて、また磨いていきましょう！

Today’s Practice – August 4
Today, we carefully refined Forms 1–5, paying close attention to every detail.

Beyond eye focus and cutting technique, we explored the importance of iai posture, the tanden, smooth movement that places no unnecessary strain on the legs, and the subtle hand control that gives the sword true sharpness.

In Iaido, even the smallest adjustment can transform the entire technique.

Our journey of study continues as we prepare for the Chuo City event this November.

本日の稽古
7月21日（月）

本日も厳しい暑さ。
外に出るのもなかなか疲れる陽気ですが、クーラーが効いた稽古場で気持ちよく身体を動かせました。
秋はあっという間に訪れます。
（早く秋になって欲しいと願うばかりです）
いよいよ初段、二段という、技だけではない世界に入ります。
品格、呼吸、心理状態、序破急などなど身につけていかなくてはなりません。
暑さとうまく付き合いながら、さらに精進いたしましょう！

Today’s Practice – July 21

Another day of intense summer heat, but we enjoyed a refreshing practice in the cool dojo.

Autumn will be here before we know it. With it comes the next stage—1st Dan and 2nd Dan—where Iaido is about far more than technique.

Dignity, breathing, mental focus, and the rhythm of Jo-Ha-Kyu all become essential.

Let’s keep training hard while learning to work with the summer heat.

Today, we continued our focused training on Forms 6 through 11 of Omote no Maki.

本日の稽古
7月4日（土）

先週の一級昇段審査も終わり、気分を変えて表乃巻の六本目から九本目までを文献を参照しながら集中稽古。

足の位置を整える事で腰が安定し、仙骨から肩まで、そして刀を握る手にも影響して正しいブレない握りになる事を実感してもらいました。
居合の所作は理にかなったものです。
まだまだ学べる事ばかりです。
秋に向けてまた楽しみましょう。

Today’s Practice – July 4 (Saturday)

With last week’s 1st Kyu grading examination now behind us, we shifted our focus and spent today studying Forms 6 through 9 of Omote no Maki, carefully referring to the written teachings.

By correcting foot placement, a stable foundation naturally emerged. From the sacrum through the shoulders and into the hands holding the sword, everything became connected, resulting in a firm and unwavering grip.

The movements of Iaido are deeply rooted in sound principles and purpose.

There is always more to learn, and that is part of the joy of training.

Let’s continue enjoying this journey together as we prepare for autumn. 🍁⚔️

本日の稽古
6月28日（日）

本日は一級昇段審査です。
Yさんはコツコツと真摯に稽古を重ねてこの日に臨みました。
落ち着いた堂々とした演武で、無事に合格としました。

「礼にはじまり、礼に終わる」
相手を敬い、場を清め、自分の心を整える姿勢。
言うまでもなく武道は勝ち負けだけではなく、心身を鍛え礼節を重んじます。
今日はその姿勢も見せてもらえました。
さらに精進しましょう！

昇段審査も終わりホッと一息。
皆で焼肉で打ち上げ。
なんと美味しい事。
また秋に向けて頑張りましょう！

Today’s Practice – June 28 (Sunday)

Today was Y-san’s 1st Kyu grading examination.

After months of sincere and consistent training, Y-san performed with confidence and successfully passed the exam.

In Japanese budo, we say, “Everything begins and ends with respect.”
Bowing is more than a formality—it shows respect for others, gratitude for the dojo, and helps us calm and prepare our minds. Today, Y-san truly demonstrated that spirit.

After the examination, we celebrated together with a well-earned yakiniku dinner.

Now it’s time to aim even higher. Let’s keep training for the next challenge this autumn! 💪⚔️
