This is a page to grow the snow community in Tokyo.

We are blessed to live very close to beautiful mountains, and I am hoping to grow a community of people who like to escape on the weekends

And that's a wrap for us here at TB for this winter. We didn't run as many trips as last year, as we're looking forward to welcome a new member of the family!! Thank you so much to Lionel for coordinating our trips this winter season and looking forward to hitting the slopes next year ⛄️

Wow, when it snows (rains) , it dumps (pours) in Japan :O

Please someone tell me a place that has better snow (fluffy and dry) than Japan? I would love to know! Until this, Japan has my winter heart ⛄️

Wow :O Easily hitting 3m back in the 1980s in terms of snowfall in Niigata, and it is clear that there is less now as an ongoing trend.

Thank you so much for joining our weekend trip to winter wonderland :D

We enjoy running these trips in small groups, so that we have the chance to make great buddies on the slopes while also being able to match our skills levels :D

Ahh nothing like a nice long cruise down the piste.

What you can't see is that we're all secretly hurrying back to the lodge so that we can dump our stuff and hit the onsen before dinner ♨️

One of our group saw a bear :O

Myoko is know to be more relaxed than most resorts for allowing you to explore the back-country off of the resort. Who knows, you might just be skiing under monkeys so make sure to look around next time you're whizzing down.

Getting off of the neatly groomed runs is where you find the deepest of powder and the best views. This weekend we had a more skilled group that enjoys a little bit of country, so when someone says "Lets climb?" there is only one answer!!

What an absolutely stunning weekend!! One thing to love about slopes in Japan are simply the views over the valley, with few houses scattered and then another incredible untouched wonderland just on the other ridge

Can't help but feel a little bit jealous when you look down to see other skier/boarders having an absolute blast while you're making your way up the slope.

More than once the thought of "can I just jump off here" is ever so tempting

Today's the day :D the sun is just cresting over the hills and we're ready to go hit the slopes. After a great evening dump of snow, the earlier the better to get fresh tracks!!!

Settled in and it is always exciting to explore the lodge, how many beds, if there is free coffee :3 Thank you Wasabi Mountain Chalets for hosting us, it was an incredible chalet.

Take a moment, get out of the cab, and look up and the dark night sky. The beauty of the stars being away from the lights of tokyo. Then slowly unpack the cab and bring your gear into the lodge for an evening of laughs and anticipation for the day of skiing ahead. ☃
