As part of the Albatros Adventure Marathons journey, we love getting closer to the cultures that shape the places we run. In Jordan, home of the Petra Desert Marathon, the Islamic New Year (Hijri New Year) marks the beginning of the lunar calendar and shifts each year with the moon. 🌙

In Jordan, this time is observed through reflection, family gatherings, and remembering the journey of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina, traditions deeply woven into everyday life. 🕌
