Condolences to the family of Mr. Aston Fletcher of Ocho Rios a long time supporter of Cycling in Jamaica. A historian of the town moor era.
Sir Fletch experienced when cycling was the biggest sport in Jamaica. He has witnessed over 4,000 track cycling races @ Town Moor/Racecourse race track.
The now-famous National Heroes Circle back in the 1930s to the early 1960s.
Mr. Fletch used to host his own cycling quiz segment during the Evon Hewitt air time on IRIE FM. One could call in and win a cash prize. However, all of his questions normally based on the sport of cycling.
Sir Fletch has lived a good life. He has run his race and won now he's off to hang with his long-time friends and colleagues, Such as Frankie Minott, Sydney and Harold Blissett, Stanko Rowe, Levi Fremantle, Sam Carter, Noel Phillis and a host of other town moors giants. R.I.P. Sir Fletch you gone but not forgotten.
His funeral service will be held on January 25th, 2020 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Ocho Rios, commencing @ 12:00 noon.
