We are pleased to announce the reopening of the Club on Monday June 8, 2020. We have taken the time in the week since the previously scheduled opening date to make some further changes that will make the Club a safer space for you to maintain your fitness routine.

Because of our size, we have been able to create significant spacing between cardio machines, allowing for safe use. Our size and number of weight room equipment will also allow members to exercise at safer distances. Day Passes will be used for easier control of the amount of members in the gym at any one time.

The following are some of the other safeguards against the spread of the Coronavirus that are to be implemented:

* Taking the temperature of members entering the Club
* Hand sanitizing on entry to the Club
* Hand washing stations in all rooms
* The mandatory use of masks and gloves by members and staff while in the Club (members will be allowed to remove masks while on strategically placed cardio machines in the aerobic room)
* Hands-free fixtures in bathrooms
* The suspension of Group Classes
* The suspension of steam room facilities
* Additional staff for frequent cleaning of equipment and other surfaces throughout the day
* The TV in the Lobby will be removed, and seating reduced in that area
* The cardio machines will be placed in both the aerobic room and the present area to allow for greater spacing between the machines
* The use of air-conditioning will be reduced to a minimum and windows and doors opened
* Signs and announcements will be used to remind members to use towels and to practice “safe-spacing"
* Restriction of number of persons attending the gym at any one time.

Spartan Health Club Announces Closure Due To COVID 19
Spartan Health Club wishes to announce that, in the best interests of our members and our staff and as part of the national effort to slow the spread of the Corona Virus, the Club will be closed temporarily. We anticipate a closure of weeks and not months. An indication from the Government that the spread of the virus is being contained and the availability of supplies of protective products such as hand sanitizers and disinfectants will be signals for the reopening of the Club.
A major factor in the decision taken to close the Club is the poor state of the public transportation system and the dependence of staff and some members on its usage.

Gym Closure Due To COVID 19

Dear Member,
It is with great regret that we inform you that it has been decided that it is in the best interests of our members and our staff that the Club be closed temporarily (we anticipate weeks and not months) as part of the national effort to slow the spread of the Corona Virus. An indication from the Government that the spread of the virus is being contained and the availability of supplies of protective products (hand sanitizers, disinfectants etc.) will be signals for the reopening of the Club.
As you may have noticed many measures are being put in place to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus in the gym including the following:

*Stepped up cleaning of the equipment by staff (4 times daily)
*Hands free utilities in the bathroom
*Availability of hand sanitizers at front desk (when stocks are available)
*Suspension of group aerobic classes.

Also, cannisters of disinfectant wipes have been purchased and will be available for purchase at a concessionary price to our members. This weekend a plan to relocate the cardio machines to the aerobic room, which would allow greater space between users of the machines, open windows and the free flow of air was aborted and instead the decision to close the Club was taken.

A freeze will be placed on all active gym memberships and lost time added on when the gym reopens. We look forward to a resumption of operations at the earliest possible time.
