There was a season in my life when my body began speaking in ways I couldn’t ignore. I was having constant headaches and stomach aches, and every time I went to the doctor, the tests came back clear. No diagnosis. No explanation. Just pain with no name.
It took me a while to understand what was really happening. Wounds from the past have a way of resurfacing, even when you think you’ve buried them deep. They show up in the body, in the mind, in the quiet moments when you least expect it. My physical symptoms were not random; they were reminders that unhealed trauma doesn’t disappear; it finds a way to be heard.
That season taught me to stop dismissing my pain and start listening to it. It taught me that healing is not only emotional or spiritual; it is physical. The body remembers what the mind tries to forget. And when you begin the work of healing, you give your body permission to release what it has been carrying for far too long.
This is why I continue to share my story. This is why I wrote Bloom: Healing the Past, Embracing the Future. This is why Blooming in Freedom exists, to remind women that healing is possible, and that your body, your mind, and your spirit all deserve peace.
