Healing Waves harnesses the ocean’s transformative powers, to deliver life-changing ocean therapy for adults and children living with disabilities, conditions and mental health struggles. We strive to break down barriers so that all members of our community can safely experience all that the ocean and our beautiful coastlines have to offer.
Over the last decade, surf therapy has become an established practice, recognised across the world as relieving symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, whilst helping build confidence, self-esteem, resilience and transferable skills for life. Healing Waves remains the only organisation providing this service within the Channel Islands.
Our specialist team of staff and volunteers enables those with a variety of complex needs, including Autism and Cerebral Palsy, together with Wheelchair users and those with life limiting conditions to access the ocean each year. Parents & guardians are often told what their loved ones can’t do. Here at Healing Waves, it’s all about celebrating what they can.
Many of the people we support would simply not be able to access our services if we were to charge for them. Because of this, all our sessions are free of charge, so we are incredibly reliant on people like you and organisations such as Club Carrefour who choose to donate, fundraise and raise awareness for Healing Waves. We receive no government funding for the provision of our service, and your generosity is greatly appreciated.
As the chosen charity of the Summer Series, Healing Waves will benefit from the proceeds raised. By working out and breaking a sweat, you will already be supporting our work, and we are beyond grateful to you.
