Clients often ask what the colours and marks mean after cupping
The truth? Not all cupping marks are the same.
Different colours can give insight into circulation, stagnation, recovery, and how your body is responding to treatment.
What is stagnation?
In traditional cupping, stagnation refers to areas where blood flow, oxygen, and nutrients may not be moving as efficiently through the tissues. This can be caused by muscular tension, stress, overuse, injury, poor circulation, or a build-up of metabolic waste often showing up as tightness, discomfort, fatigue, or restricted movement.
Cupping helps encourage circulation, release tension, and support the body’s natural healing process.
