Prestigious Award this one 🏆
U14 | Micky Porter Trophy
Congratulations to Charlie Caunt for being awarded this season's Micky Porter Trophy as part of the St Ouen FC U14 age group.
Every season, we award this trophy to the U14 player we think embodies the traits that Micky would demonstrate and promote. These include enthusiasm, being positive, team player, helpful, respected and can play a bit of football too.
Charlie certainly ticks all of these boxes and is a well deserved winner. Well done Charlie, you should be proud of yourself for how you've approached every game and training session, and for your time off the pitch as well 👏
Many thanks to Anne Porter, Micky's wife, for presenting the award today 🙏

In case you don't know Micky Porter, he was a local football legend that put so much time and energy into giving young people a chance through football. Micky spent time at a number of clubs, notably St Ouen and St Pauls, coaching so many young players across numerous age groups.
Throughout his time, Micky had strong moral values with unquestionable integrity, high standards of sportsmanship and fair play. All that were coached by him also recall his belief in the football principles of possession play and “pass and move” (think peak Barcelona under Pep).
Micky was an absolute gentleman and the fact that nobody had a bad word to say on him, says a lot. To be awarded this trophy goes beyond football, and is a reflection of what they do off the pitch as well, so should be honoured and proud to receive.
You can read more from Aaron Travers (ex-local player/coach of GS United and JFA Performance teams) who speaks very highly of his time with Micky and the influence he had on him at St Pauls.
