💚💙 **TWO TEAMS. TWO OUTSTANDING WINS.** 💙💚

What an evening for our Tier 3 squads, with both the Cobras and Chargers producing superb all-round performances to continue an outstanding start to the summer.

🐍 Cobras defeated SOS by 146 runs after posting a huge 230/3 (Net 415) from their 20 overs.

Haydn Ellis led the way with a magnificent 59* from just 30 balls, while Finley Woolgar blasted an unbeaten 44 from only 20 deliveries. It was a true team batting performance too, with eight different players contributing runs throughout the innings.

With the ball, the Cobras were just as impressive. Luke Witthoft claimed 4 wickets, Max Wickham picked up 2 wickets, while Haydn Ellis and Finley Woolgar completed excellent all-round displays by taking 2 wickets apiece as SOS were restricted to 124/11 (Net 269).

⚡ Chargers were equally dominant, recording a 77-run victory over Farmers.

After finishing on 134/1 (Net 329) from their 15 overs, Rory Simpson stole the headlines with a blistering 36* from just 12 balls, well supported by Joe Murphy (22* off 14) and Jack Firth (17* off 12).

The bowlers then completed the job superbly, restricting Farmers to 82/6 (Net 252). James Brock returned remarkable figures of 2 wickets for just 1 run, while Hector Christensen added 2/10 in another disciplined team bowling display.

These performances are another reflection of the progress being made throughout our Tier 3 programme. The standard of cricket, teamwork and confidence shown by these young players continues to improve week after week, and it's fantastic to see so many boys contributing in every department.

A huge congratulations to every player involved, along with our coaches and the parents who continue to support the boys so brilliantly.

👏 Well played everyone!

🏏 Honours Board Update 🏏

We have a new addition to the 2026 Honours Board! 👏🔥

Haydn Ellis has earned his place after a blistering 59 from just 30 balls* against St Ouen Springfield in tonight’s My Club My Journey fixture at FB.

After retiring on 33 in his first spell at the crease, Haydn returned later in the innings to finish unbeaten on 59, striking 4 maximums in a superb display of power hitting.

A fantastic knock and a well-deserved place on the Honours Board.

Congratulations, Haydn! 💙🏏

🏏 Seniors Weekend Round-Up 🏏

It was another busy weekend for our senior sides, with one win and one defeat across the two fixtures.

On Saturday, the 2nd XI took on Walkovers Warriors at LQ2 and came away with an excellent 11-run victory.

The match also saw senior debuts for Harrison Woolgar and Jonathan Carnegie Bedlow, with both players making their first appearances for the club. Congratulations to them both! 👏

It was a fantastic all-round team performance, with everyone contributing to help get the lads over the line.

On Sunday, the 1st XI faced Rathbone OV’s 2nd XI at LQ1.

The match also marked a special occasion for Taylor Nelson, who made his 1st XI debut. Congratulations, Taylor! 👏💙

Injuries disrupted the side during the match, with Bos and Dylan both picking up injuries, but the team battled hard to restrict OV’s to 154/4 from their allotted overs.

In reply, Peachy led the way with a brilliant 36, while TK added a quick-fire 21. Beau also batted superbly towards the end of the innings, finishing unbeaten on 16*, but despite the effort, the lads fell just short of the target.

Thank you to Walkovers Warriors and Rathbone OV’s 2nd XI for two great games played in the right spirit. We wish both teams the very best for the rest of the season. 💙🏏

☄️ COMETS CONTINUE THEIR WINNING START ☄️

Another emphatic victory for our Chirpy’s Tier 2 Comets, who made it two league wins from two with a 54-run success against Walkovers at FB Fields.

Asked to bat first, the Comets produced an outstanding total of 188/4 from their 20 overs.

Captain Beau Tinari-Lee set the tone at the top of the innings, reaching the Tier 2 retirement milestone with an unbeaten 33 from 24 balls. He was replaced by Leo Sithamparanathan, who continued the momentum in superb fashion, racing to 33 not out from just 16 deliveries with some excellent clean striking.

Both were well supported by several of the younger players, who made important contributions as the Comets built a commanding total.

In reply, Walkovers’ chase was put under immediate pressure when Rory Simpson removed the dangerous Hongekar for 0, providing the perfect start for the Comets.

Sharp fielding and disciplined bowling ensured the visitors were never able to build the momentum required. Toby Johnson returned late in the innings to claim an excellent 3/12 from his four overs, helping dismiss Walkovers for 134.

Noah Morrison struck a well-made 42 for Walkovers, but the target always remained out of reach as the Comets completed another convincing victory.

A brilliant all-round team performance from the boys, with runs throughout the order, excellent energy in the field and wickets shared across the attack.

Chirpy’s Comets 188/4
Walkovers 134 all out

🏆 Comets won by 54 runs

☄️ COMETS BACK IN LEAGUE ACTION TONIGHT ☄️

Our Chirpy’s Tier 2 Comets return to league action this evening as they take on a strong Walkovers side at FB Fields.

The Comets head into their second league fixture of the season looking to build on their opening day win against fellow Chirpy’s side, the Cyclones. Beau Tinari-Lee leads the team again tonight, with a number of the squad coming into the game in good form across the Chirpy’s pathway.

George Le Boutillier has been in particularly strong touch with the bat recently, and the Comets will be hoping he can carry that confidence into tonight’s fixture.

We also welcome Toby Johnson and Rory Simpson into the side this evening, adding more depth and energy to what should be a really good contest.

Best of luck to Beau and the boys tonight.
