and Sergeant Mohamed Mahudhee, a member of the Maldives National Defence Force, who lost his life during the operations connected to this tragedy.
The entire SUEX community stands with respect and sympathy alongside the families, friends, and all those affected by this painful event.
SUEX would also like to express its sincere gratitude and respect to all the organizations and professionals who took part in the recent search and recovery operations in the Maldives.
Special thanks go to DAN Europe (Divers Alert Network Europe) for the exceptional work carried out, for the coordination and support provided throughout the mission, and to the Finnish team of highly specialized divers who operated on site with extraordinary competence, dedication, and spirit of service.
SUEX would also like to personally thank the members of the recovery team: Sami Paakkarinen, Jenni Westerlund, and Patrik Grönqvist.
Their commitment, technical expertise, and ability to operate in extremely complex conditions, marked by profound human significance, represent an example of professionalism and responsibility for the entire global diving community.
From the very first operational requests, SUEX immediately made itself available to offer its contribution in facilitating the necessary logistical support, helping to ensure the rapid availability of equipment already present locally.
Heartfelt thanks also go to the Alimatha team for the fundamental operational and logistical support provided throughout the mission, as well as to SUEX’s distributor in the Maldives, Miles Crookes, for the local coordination, availability, and collaboration shown in such a delicate situation.
“This tragic event deeply affects our entire community and touches each of us on a human level before a professional one. We are grateful to DAN Europe, the Finnish team, and all the people and organizations who contributed with competence, courage, and a spirit of collaboration in such difficult circumstances,”
said Andrea Cappa of SUEX. “In moments like these, professionalism and humanity go hand in hand.”
Out of respect for the families and all those involved, SUEX will not provide any further operational details and renews its most heartfelt condolences to the victims.
