Amerigo Saddles - Winning Technology
The Amerigo Brand has been created by horse people whose vast experience and knowledge has allowed them to create products that work with the horses and riders giving them an optimal situation for top performance at all levels. Manufactured with traditional materials such as wooden spring trees and wool flocked panels, models are created individually with a precise fit for both horse and rider.
The ‘nerve centre’ of the Amerigo brand is located in Herisau, a small town in the eastern part of Switzerland. This is the base of the Menetsattel company, owned by Lisa and Peter Menet. The companys’ dedicated team of experienced horse people not only work with saddle customers in Switzerland but is also responsible for the Amerigo Brand worldwide. All new designs and products are developed and tested here before becoming part of the Amerigo line.
The Designer, Peter Menet has been a competitive rider all his life, showjumping up to ‚S’ level, and a passionate breeder of Sporthorses. His work in Switzerland means that he sees 10 to 12 horses and their riders each day. Measuring them for new saddles, checking the fit of their exisiting saddles and advising all levels of riders. His extensive knowledge of how saddles can influence the horses’ performance is highly respected, and his seminars on the subject often form parts of further education for Vets, Physiotherapists and Osteopaths worldwide.
Amerigo Saddles are manufactured by Selleria Equipe whose headquarters in Valdagno is a visionary construction, that is state of the art, one of the most advanced in Europe, and encompasses the production department, offices and showroom. The light and airy construction provides a inspiring working area, and allows for individual saddle making on a much larger scale than was previously possible. As you would expect from an Italian Product the quality of the leathers used is of the highest level, each naturally tanned hide being handpicked and inspected before it is allowed to be used. Italian and French leathers from certified tanneries are favoured, and it is also important to us that while the quality level is of the highest, that our sources are also sustainable ones.
