La SilverSkiff, gara unica nel suo genere in Italia, è nata nel 1992 quando il socio Cerea Vittorio Soave, libraio antiquario e appassionato praticante di canottaggio fin dagli anni ’50, lancia la sfida ai singolisti della Cerea e delle altre società torinesi sul percorso Cerea-Isolotto di Moncalieri-Cerea, per un totale di 11 km. Nel 2002 il Tofeo SilverSkiff è entrato a far parte del Calendario
Internazionale della FISA (Federation Internationale des Societes d’Aviron), ricevendo così l’ufficiale consacrazione di Regata Internazionale; si noti che in tale calendario figurano solo altre due gare italiane. SilverSkiff, the only race of its kind in Italy, was born in 1992 when a RSC CEREA member, Vittorio Soave, antiquarian bookseller and passionate practitioner of rowing since the’50s, challenged each member of Cerea and other rowing clubs in Turin to race on the way Cerea- Isolotto Moncalieri-Cerea, for a total of 11 km. In 2002, the Tofeo SilverSkiff has joined the International Calendar of FISA (Federation Internationale des Societes d’Aviron) and received the official recognition of International Regatta; it must be noted that this schedule included only two other races in Italy.
