Huge success for today’s NSW IMMAF - International Mixed Martial Arts Federation trials, it was great to see some of the best talent in the state come together, challenging themselves and giving up their Sunday to get the opportunity to represent their country and compete in some of the most important amateur competitions in the world. It was great to see the progression and development in athletes since last time. Australian MMA is growing massively and this is due to the dedicated athletes and all the people working behind these athletes to give them the best possible opportunities to compete and progress. There is a lot of work behind the scene but it is all worth it to see so many comminuted athletes coming in on a Sunday to get their opportunity to represent their country. IMMAFA - International Mixed Martial Arts Federation of Australia is putting in a lot of work to take the professionalism of this sport to the next level and I’m excited to see even more new talent showing up at the next trails. I want to thank Richie Cranny for passing by and for all the work he puts in, also thanks Brian Ebersole . Huge thanks to UFC GYM Rockdale for providing us with such great facilities that will be the main location for IMMAF in NSW. Good luck to all the fighters competing in Abu Dhabi, it was great for some of them to meet for the first time today, all of whom we are sure will carry the flag of their nation with pride and will represent Australia in the best way possible.

5 years ago I was running a program in Italian public schools to help change kids lives through sport/MMA. Lately I’ve heard too many people, talk about their hard lives and struggle but I wish I could invite you to these places. In these places there are no opportunities, everything looks grey but these kids are different because they invent opportunities. I am so proud of the project because coaching these classes was like coaching in a jungle, these kids wouldn’t respect any professor or care about anything, but when they would come to my class they would all act in line. Everyone wanted their chance to show they were ready for anything, these kids would be happy to take on the top UFC fighters and would never say no or turn away from an opportunity. These are my kids. Kids that are aren’t scared of anything, and sadly for their ages they have already seen too much. I never like to show my achievements but I understand the times have changed and if you don’t show all you have done and what you have given no one will see your value. Look at them, to them there’s no difference between colour, race or religion, it’s just about the opportunity. One of the reasons I share this picture is because one of these kids has recently reached out to me and warmed my heart. When you do these things you don’t do it for any return, never expecting or caring for anything to come back to you, but you do it because you’ve been in that position yourself. This kid told me recently that this project changed his life, it showed him a way out. These kids are now 18yo and most of them didn’t end up on a great path, but one thing I’m proud of is that I was able to give some opportunity for change to at least some of them. There’s a lot of coaches out there for Instagram. Not a lot of coaches out there to change lives.

Sono felice di annunciarvi che sarò il responsabile per gli sport da combattimento per UFC GYM. Sono onorato di questo ruolo che mi è stato assegnato, è stato un anno e mezzo veramente duro, dove avrò speso dalle 10/15ore in palestra al giorno (il problema è che avrei voluto starci di più), per anni ho investito tutto quello che avevo, ogni singolo momento e briciolo di energia in quello che amo, molte volte mi sono chiesto perché e quando sembrava impossibile, non ho fatto un passo indietro e ho spinto ancora di più.
Voglio dire ai ragazzi la fuori di crederci con tutto quello che avete, realizzate i vostri sogni!!
Non sembrava possibile vivere di questo, sono coach della nazionale Australiana di MMA e responsabile per gli sport da combattimento UFC GYM Rockdale, ho un contratto indeterminato, per alzarmi la mattina e fare quello che amo e soprattutto ho una famiglia stupenda!!
Grazie a tutti i "momenti NO" sono stati la mia spinta per cambiare, non preoccupatevi, non ho fatto neanche la metà di quello che ho in testa.

I am happy to announce that I am
now officially the head of combat sports for UFC GYM. It has been a year and a half of intense work, with regular days of 10/15 hours in the gym (the only problem is I would like to stay longer). I invest everything I have, every single ounce of energy into this sport I love so much. In many times I asked myself why I push even when it seems impossible. But I never backed down, but pushed even harder and further to achieve the best results.I want to tell the kids out there to believe with everything they have and realize their dreams. So many people said to me it wouldn’t be possible to make a living from this sport, now I have an indefinite contract and I get up every morning and do what I love. I am the coach of the Australian National Team and head of combat sports of and above all I have a beautiful family, thank you for standing by me through all my challenges. Now we keep going, don’t worry, I haven’t even accomplished half of what I have inside.
