La nostra scuola offre un'opportunità unica per imparare e praticare il mushing, lo sport tradizionale dei cani da slitta, tutto l'anno, sia su slitte sulla neve che con il dog-trekking a piedi durante la stagione estiva. Con oltre quarant'anni di esperienza, ho partecipato ad alcune delle gare più prestigiose e impegnative al mondo, tra cui l'Iditarod e la Yukon Quest in Alaska (1600 km) e l'Alpirod e la Transitalia in Europa (900 km). Da molti anni, insieme al mio team di guide e istruttori, che formo personalmente, insegno questo magico sport a migliaia di appassionati, a partire dai cinque o sei anni di età.

ENG: My name is Ararad Khatchikian, and I am the founder and director of the International Mushing Sleddog School (SIM), a sports club officially recognized by the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI). The school is located in Tarvisio (UD) and Cortina d'Ampezzo (BL). I live and work in Tarvisio together with forty-one sled dogs, an exceptional team of Huskies, in the stunning Fusine Plain, nestled at the foot of the Julian Alps, right on the border between Italy, Slovenia, and Austria. Our school offers a unique opportunity to learn and practice mushing, the traditional sled dog sport, year-round, both on sleds on snow and through dog-trekking on foot. With over forty years of experience, I have participated in some of the world’s most prestigious and challenging races, including the Iditarod and Yukon Quest in Alaska (1600 km) and the Alpirod and Transitalia in Europe (900 km). For many years, together with my team of guides and instructors, whom I personally train, I have been teaching this magical sport to thousands of passionate enthusiasts, from as young as five or six years old.
