The 2026 European Championship in Portimão was held at an amazing location with a fantastic organization. Everything around the event was very well arranged, and it was great to compete in such a professional environment.

Unfortunately, it was not a good week for me. I’m very disappointed, not only with my results, but also with my starts and overall speed on the water. Simply put, it just wasn’t there this week.

On top of that, the weeks before I was recovering from a broken toe, which apparently needed more time to heal than I originally expected. Because of that, I had very limited training hours on the water leading up to the European Championship, and I definitely felt that during the competition.

I’m ready to leave this event behind me now and fully focus on training hard again for my next competition in Weymouth. I’m motivated to come back stronger and get back to the level I know I can perform at.

Just finished the first event of the year. IQ Games in Lanzarote 🇪🇸💨

For me, this was mainly a training event and a great opportunity to see where I stand at the start of the season. It gave me a clear picture of what I need to work on and where I can improve in the coming months.

Lessons are learned, and excited to keep building. The season has started.

The World Championships have come to an end, and even though I didn’t make it into the gold fleet, I’m still proud of the week I’ve had. On the first day I was involved in a collision on the starting line, because this happened on my birthday, I chose not to spend the rest of that day in the jury room. It was a conscious decision, but one that ultimately cost me a place in the gold fleet.

However, I was determined to show what I’m capable of, and in the silver fleet I managed to do exactly that by winning it. Finishing the event this way proves me that that the past months payed off and gives me confidence moving forward.

All in all, it was a week of valuable lessons, growth, motivation and hunger for what comes next.💪

That’s it for the world championships Sa Ràpita 2024 and aswell for my incredible youth journey. This event I came in sick, coughing all the time but still with the feeling of rocking it on the races. Unfortunately the ending results tell otherwise. Looking on the results as 14th out of the 142 I wouldn’t say I’m happy, knowing there’s more in me. But looking racing wise I’m happy with the races I sailed and ready to work hard and improve on wheres work needed.
