🇮🇹 il 7 Ottobre del 1991 (34 anni fa…!!!) superavo per la prima volta i 100metri di profondità!
Quella è per ma una data che resterà impressa nei miei ricordi per tutta la mia vita!
Entravo a far parte di quel gruppo di apneisti che avevano toccato una quota a tre cifre. Oggi i -100metri non sono nulla, ma all’epoca erano davvero !
Ricordo ancora quell’allenamento, l’ansia e l’emozione che hanno preceduto il tuffo, l’esplosione di gioia all’uscita!
Ero sul fondo e non volevo salire … volevo gustarmi ogni singolo istante di quel magico momento!
Ogni tuffo era una scoperta, un’esplorazione su me stesso!
Nessuno mi aveva insegnato nulla, nessuno sapeva nulla!
Non esistevano manuali di apnea, internet, non c’erano corsi, stage tenuti da campioni…nulla!
Non esisteva la carpa, il mouthfill, il carico, gli addominali da rilassare, l’handsfree sequenziale, il frenzel avanzato … lavoravi sul tuo corpo, ti rilassavi e tutto arrivava da solo.
Non conoscevo la ragione per cui riuscivo a compensare! Ma, alla fine , non mi importava neanche di conoscerla… compensavo, e questa era la cosa più importante!
E più mi rilassavo, fisicamente e mentalmente, e più tutto diventava più facile! E così sono poi arrivato a -150!
🇬🇧 On October the 7th, 1991 (34 years ago...!!!), I dove deeper than 100 meters for the first time!
That date will remain etched in my memory for the rest of my life!
I joined that group of freedivers who had reached triple-digit depths.
Today, -100 meters is nothing, but back then, there were very few of us!
I still remember that training session, the anxiety and excitement that preceded the dive, the explosion of joy when I came out!
I was at the bottom and didn't want to go up... I wanted to live ‘deeply' every single second of that magical moment!
Every dive was a discovery, an exploration of myself!
No one had taught me anything, no one knew anything!
There were no freediving manuals, no internet, no courses, no training workshops by champions... nothing!
There was no packing, no mouthfill, no charge, no relaxation of the abs, no sequential handsfree, no advanced Frenzel... you worked on your body, you relaxed, and everything came naturally.
I didn't know the reason why I was able to equalize! But, in the end, I didn't even care to know it... I equalized, and that was enough for me!
And the more I relaxed, physically and mentally, the easier everything became! And that's how I got to -150!
