The first underwater organization representing diving and different varieties of underwater sports, sciences and underwater activities.

The World Underwater Federation was founded in 1959 and by now it comprises over 130 federations from 5 continents. CMAS-Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques is an international public organization that represents various underwater sports, sciences, explorations and generally fighting for the recognition of all kinds of underwater activities. Created by the international congress of

diving federations, and pioneered by the great French naval officer, sea explorer, filmmaker and scientist Jacques-Yves Cousteau. Established back in January 1959, which makes it one of the oldest underwater organizations of all time.

A new Senior Women Asia Continental Record in Novi Sad! 🌊

Today, 14 June 2026, during the 2026 CMAS World Championship Freediving Indoor, Yujia Yang of China set a new Senior Women Asia Continental Record in DYN with a distance of 240 m.

She surpassed the previous Asia Continental Record of 232.5 m, delivering another outstanding performance in Novi Sad.

A new Senior Women Oceania Continental Record in Novi Sad! 🌊

Today, 14 June 2026, during the 2026 CMAS World Championship Freediving Indoor, Rebekah Nutter of Australia set a new Senior Women Oceania Continental Record in DYN with a distance of 232 m.

Another outstanding performance and a proud moment for CMAS Freediving in Oceania.

Day 3 highlights from Novi Sad! 🌊

Today, 13 June 2026, the 2026 CMAS World Championship Freediving Indoor delivered another unforgettable day of competition, featuring Static Apnea (STA) and 4x50 m Speed Apnea.

The day brought outstanding performances, new World Records and numerous Continental Records, showing once again the incredible strength, focus and determination of CMAS freedivers.

🏆 World Records
Yusuf Erkan of Türkiye set a new Junior Men World Record in Static Apnea with a time of 06:23.
Heike Schwerdtner set a new Senior Women World Record in Static Apnea with an incredible time of 09:39.
Lidiia Stadnik set a new Senior Women World Record in 4x50 m Speed Apnea with a time of 01:32.21.
Aldo Cacco set a new Master M3 Men World Record in 4x50 m Speed Apnea with a time of 03:36.80.
Marina Oliveiri set a new Master M2 Women World Record in 4x50 m Speed Apnea with a time of 03:23.30.

A day of calm, speed, control and history in Novi Sad.

A new Senior America Continental Record in Novi Sad! 🌊

On 12 June 2026, during the 2026 CMAS World Championship Freediving Indoor, Samanta Diaz of Venezuela set a new Senior 2x50 m Speed Apnea America Continental Record with a time of 38.35.

She broke the previous record of 39.72, delivering an outstanding performance in Novi Sad.
