Peter’s Cricket Club” consists of priests, seminarians and supporters whose lives are centred on the Vatican and who wish to bring all that this sport represents to the heart of the Roman Catholic Church and ensure that the Church's voice finds an echo in the particular contemporary culture. The club engages in intercultural and ecumenical occasions and charitable initiatives through the vector of

this sport which is the second most followed sport in the world. Under the Patronage of the Pontifical Council for Culture the club looks to maintain strong links with the English speaking community based in Rome and be a mechanism promoting the integration of the cherished cultural values proper to the cricketing way of life.

Vatican Cricket Team Selection Trials 2025

The Vatican cricket team held selection trials at the Mater Ecclesiae seminary grounds on 7th and 20th November 2025. The trials were led by team coach, Dane Kirby from Australia, and Manager Fr Eamonn. A total of 20 enthusiastic candidates, including priests and seminarians who work or study in Rome, participated in the trials.

The team selection is underway, and the selected players will represent the Vatican in the upcoming spring season.
