My 5th ever lap of Olivers Mount

We go back there in less than 2 weeks time for the Gold Cup.

Last time out our early success and pole position was taken out of our hands with the engine blowing up. With a brand new motor fitted, we’re hoping for better luck this time round and really showing North Yorkshire what we can do!

After sourcing a new engine and fitting within the same week I was keen to see what we could do. Riding the Cb and the R6 was tough- I was out 14 times on different occasions on the Saturday. As we were having a few issues with it, lack of tyres and I wasn’t feeling comfortable, I parked it.

Qualified for the main race 👍🏻

Came away with a bit of cash for the wins too!

Didn’t expect to be going that well on the CB being a bigger lad and all that! Great battles and great company Having to do a lot of work in the corners as on the straights I was being left for dead!

Would like to see what we could do on new tyres, pads and with a working head stock bearing! 😅

Nearly ended up in the lake after my crash- even after
told me not to go in there on the track walk with Ryan Dixon 😂. Thanks to my bro and Celvin Grimes for helping me re-build the bike in time for the next race. It also gave us a chance to source and re-fit the engine bolt that has been missing for however long 😂😂

We are back in the saddle!

In the last few weeks we’ve raced at Olivers Mount and Aberdare Park Road Races.

We kicked off our road racing career, buying a 2021 R6. Having worked my arse off for months.

After a quick test at Brands Hatch Circuit we adjusted the bike to suit my riding style and we were off to sunny Scarbs.

A quick track walk, followed by 3 sighting laps behind John Marsh and fellow newcomer Peter Hickman, straight into 3 practice laps and 7 laps of qualifying.

After just 10 laps in total we qualified on pole for the Super-sport B race- I took that one 💪🏻.

Unfortunately, on Sundays morning warm up the bike s**t itself. It seems I have been sold a ringer. After paying the best part of £12K for it. I bought the bike off a fellow road racer and the fact the engine had been “Refreshed 100km ago”. Having no paperwork to prove it and after a gentleman’s handshake, I took his word for it . “I wouldn’t do that to you mate, we’re going to be racing in the same paddock”. After numerous calls using different numbers he finally answered, only to be told, “I’m not having anything to do with it mate, you’ve obviously over rev’ed it, it’s your problem!” 😅😂😂. I know what I’d be doing if the boot was on the other foot. (Found many other things wrong with it too, so it’s not like he’s a genuine person and these things happen).

Anyway, enough bitching!

Oh what could’ve been. Annoyed that you only get one newcomer weekend and it was taken away from me through no fault of my own.

We go back for the Gold Cup in September to show what we can really do.

Fast group Friday! 😅

Finally made it to fast group!!

Few messages off people asking why I’m not back racing when I said I would be so thought I’d let you all know on here.

After Spain I was still really struggling with on going injuries with neck, shoulders, knees and ankle.

I chose not to race due to these injuries, for I think what must be the first time that I can remember in my career. More than used to riding with broken bones and even backs for that matter, as most racers are.

The fact is I didn’t feel safe and fully in control in Spain, this would not be safe to push for me or others on track.

Today I had surgery on my neck that I chose to stay awake for, which was more than unpleasant 😅.

I’m awaiting MRI’s on both shoulders to see what can be done. Having already had 2 steroid injections that have failed.

I made a promise to myself I wouldn’t race again until I was fitter than I’ve ever been, so I must stick to it.

I’m doing absolutely all I can to get back out there and to be honest, I’m really struggling with it all keep going wrong.

Anyone fancy turning some spanner’s for me on race weekends?

Would need help from Thursday- Sunday. Once a month. Changing wheels, doing fuel, general bike maintenance.

Ideally someone that knows a bit about bikes and their way around them…

Could be great experience for someone who’s trying to learn the game!

WE ARE BACK BABY!!

I’ve been really quiet on here- so apologies!

Been a really up and down 2 years.

Since suffering catastrophic injuries in my crash at Brands Hatch in July 2024, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes, trying to get fit, to see if I’d ever be able to ride a race bike in anger again.

There’s been some real struggles since the crash. Mental health battles, big injuries to get over, 9 months of concussion, money and being off work for over a year trying to run a business has been killer!

The biggest hurdle of all came this January- Losing Dad- half the reason for my love of bikes, my obsession with speed and without him, I would never have had any success whatsoever.

Dad put so much time and energy into me when it came to bikes, taking me to motocross every weekend, traveling up and down the country to support me racing and always believing in me when it counted. I will miss him so much and just hope I can make him proud this season.

After a positive test in last week I can confirm we will be back racing this season! It was a tricky 3 days but I managed to get back on a bike and spin some laps which I am so incredibly happy with.

I was really unsure how it would go and whether I’d still have what it takes to ride a bike fast again. No PB’s but as I keep reminding myself, I need to be realistic with my expectations after being off a bike for so long.

My goal is to compete in as many rounds of as possible, on board my Suzuki in the Powerbike class.
