A few fish from this weekend around Trentino and the Bolzano area 🎣🇮🇹

The rivers are finally in great shape again and the trout are getting more active week after week. We spent the last days fishing small alpine streams and bigger mountain rivers, with some really beautiful wild fish caught both on fly and spinning gear.
Cold water, empty rivers, incredible landscapes and aggressive trout in crystal-clear water.

Moments like these are exactly why we love guiding here.

Yes, you can fly fish for wild trout just a short drive from Rome! We target brown trout in spring-fed streams and mountain rivers, using dry flies, nymphs, and euro nymphing techniques depending on weather and water levels. These waters are ultra-clear, requiring stealth, precise casting, and long leaders (12–15 ft) with fine tippets (5X–7X). The fish are wild, cautious, and strong – a real challenge even for experienced fly anglers.💪🏻💪🏻

Ideal rods are in the 2–4 wt range, and we often fish size 16–20 mayfly imitations or tungsten nymphs on tight-line rigs. Hatch activity peaks in spring and early autumn, but the season offers productive fishing from March through November.😃
