La Confédération Internationale de la Peche Sportive est une organisation de nature universelle qui a le but de promouvoir, coordonner et perfectionner toutes les activités qui touchent la Peche du point de vue purement sportif. Ses activités, quelles soient sportives, techniques, scientifiques ou culturelles, sont ouvertes a tous, sans aucune distinction raciale, sociale, politique ou religieuse, selon les principes de l'idéal Olympique. Actuellement cent quatre Fédérations Nationales, représentant cinquante millions d'inscrits, adhérent par les différents FIPS a la C.I.P.S.
