Retour sur le podium pour Tom, second du MXGP de République Tchèque ce dimanche!
"C'est super de remonter sur le podium après une série de courses difficiles, notamment à cause d'une blessure qui m'a empêché de participer à plusieurs manches. La suite a été compliquée, car les pilotes sont très performants, et c'est ma première saison de retour en GP et en 450, donc j'ai travaillé d'arrache-pied et ça a porté ses fruits. Je peux encore progresser et je vais continuer à m'entraîner. Vu mes bons départs, je sais que je suis capable de faire encore mieux lors des six derniers GP."

Tom is back on the box, second this weekend at the MXGP of Czech Republic!
Tom: "t was great to get back on the podium after a tough stretch of races, including missing a few rounds with injury. It was hard after that, because the guys are running so fast, and it is still my first season back in the GPs and on a 450, so I’ve been working extremely hard and now the work has paid off. There is definitely more to come though and I’ll keep working and with these starts I’ve been getting, I know I am capable of even more in these remaining six rounds."

Une chute en fin de première manche, alors qu'il était troisième, a gâché cette journée à Foxhill! Reparti sonné après sa chute, Tom termine cette manche quatorzième, avant de se classer sixième de la seconde.
Tom: "Aujourd'hui, une journée en demi-teinte. J'ai eu beaucoup de points positifs, mais aussi un moment que je regrette. Mes départs ont été excellents tout le week-end, ce qui m'a permis d'aborder sereinement ce circuit difficile. Ma vitesse était également bonne, car j'ai pu rivaliser avec les leaders et rester dans leur sillage pendant la majeure partie de la course. Malheureusement, cette erreur en fin de première manche m'a fait chuter au classement et a rendu la deuxième manche plus compliquée. Malgré tout, je peux aborder Loket avec la certitude de progresser et de me rapprocher de mon objectif."

Still, I think I can head into Loket knowing that I’m getting closer and closer to where I need to be."

Tom: "Évidemment, c'était décevant de faire cette erreur lors de la première manche alors que j'étais troisième, ce qui m'a empêché de la terminer. Cependant, je pense avoir bien réagi lors de la deuxième manche en prenant le holeshot et en menant un petit moment, avant de suivre le rythme des trois premiers. J'ai perdu quelques places vers la fin, mais je pense tout de même que c'est un pas en avant pour moi et cela me rend enthousiaste pour la suite de la saison."

A crash and a DNF in the first moto in South Africa (bike was damaged), and a much better second moto which saw Tom score points for sixth place
Tom: "Obviously disappointing to make that mistake in race one when I was in third place, so that meant I couldn’t finish the moto. However, I think I bounced back well in race two to grab the holeshot and lead for a little bit and then run the pace of the top three. I dropped a couple of spots near the end, but I still think it was a positive step for me and it makes me excited for the rest of the season."

Premier séjour en Afrique du Sud pour Tom,; qui a apprécié ce nouveau tracé aux portes de Johannesburg. Sixième temps aux essais chronos, dans la même seconde que la pole, il fait un bon départ en manche qualificative ou il tient la quatrième place du début à la fin.
Tom: "Je me sentais beaucoup mieux aujourd'hui et j'étais à l'aise pendant toute la course. J'avais un bon rythme et j'étais troisième, mais je n'ai pas vraiment trouvé d'ouverture pour doubler. Je suis content malgré tout, car c'est un pas dans la bonne direction et j'ai hâte de faire encore mieux demain. Je pense qu'ils ont fait un excellent travail sur la piste et mon expérience ici en Afrique du Sud a été très positive jusqu'à présent."
First trip to South Africa for Tom, who enjoyed this new track near Johannesburg. Sixth fastest in the timed practice sessions, within the same second as pole position, he made a good start in the qualifying heat where he held fourth place from start to finish.
Tom: "It felt a lot better today, and I felt comfortable for the entire moto. I was riding a good pace and had third place in front of me, but I couldn’t really find anywhere to make a pass. I’m happy though as it is a good step in the right direction and I’m excited to do even better tomorrow. I think they did an excellent job with the track and it has been a good experience so far down here in South Africa"

Douzième du GP du Portugal, Tom n'a pas obtenu les résultats escomptés ce weekend.
Tom: "Je pense que ma vitesse et mes départs étaient impeccables aujourd'hui, notamment le holeshot lors de la deuxième course. Malheureusement, nous devons encore travailler ensemble pour que je puisse maintenir ce rythme tout au long de la course. C'est décevant et nous allons nous efforcer d'y remédier pour les prochaines manches, car je suis convaincu de pouvoir rivaliser avec les meilleurs."
Twelfth in the Portuguese GP, Tom did not got the results he was expecting this weekend.
Tom: "I think it was obvious that my speed and my starts were on point today, including the holeshot in race two. Unfortunately we need to work together a bit and make sure that I am able to maintain that pace throughout the whole race. That aspect is disappointing and it is something we will work hard to fix for the future rounds because I truly believe I can challenge with those top guys."

De retour de blessure après avoir raté deux GP suite à sa chute au départ du GP de France, Tom accroche une septième place au GP d'Italie ce weekend, avec une cinquième et une neuvième place. La suite dès ce weekend au Portugal.
Tom: "Je pense que dans l'ensemble, c'était un bon retour ce week-end. Il y a eu quelques moments que je regrette, mais globalement, il y a beaucoup de points positifs à retenir pour le Portugal le week-end prochain. J'ai pris un bon départ lors de la première course, frôlant le holeshot aux côtés de Jeffrey, et je pense qu'un léger manque de rythme m'a empêché de terminer plus haut. Malgré tout, c'était bien de retrouver la grille de départ et je suis impatient de progresser lors des prochains Grands Prix."
Returning from injury after missing two GPs following his crash at the start of the French GP, Tom took a seventh place at the Italian GP this weekend, with a fifth and a ninth place. Next one this weekend in Portugal.
Tom: "I think it was a good comeback this weekend overall. There were a couple of moments that I’d like to take back but for the most part, there were a lot of positives to take into Portugal next weekend. I got a good start in race one, almost getting the holeshot next to Jeffrey and then I think it was just a little bit of race-rust that stopped me finishing higher up. Still, it was good to back on the line and I’m excited to progress in all these upcoming GPs"

La mort dans l'âme, Tom a du renoncer à disputer le GP de Lettonie ce weekend, en raison des séquelles de sa chute au départ de la seconde manche du MXGP de France.
Tom: "C'est avec regret que je vous annonce mon forfait pour la course de Lettonie ce week-end. J'ai souffert de trop fortes douleurs en Allemagne pour pouvoir courir, et je ne pense pas que mon état se soit suffisamment amélioré pour que je sois prêt à rouler à Kegums. C'est vraiment dommage car j'avais le sentiment d'avoir bien performé lors des premières manches de la saison et de m'être bien adapté à la moto et à la catégorie MXGP. Mon objectif est maintenant d'être au top de ma forme pour Montevarchi et de me battre aux avant-postes comme lors de tous les Grands Prix précédents."

Unfortunately Tom had to give up competing in the Latvian GP this weekend, due to the after-effects of his crash at the start of the second moto at the MXGP of France.
Tom: "It is sad news to say that I won’t be lining up in Latvia this weekend. I was in too much pain in Germany to be able to race, and I don’t think things have got sufficiently better for me to be riding at Kegums. It is a big shame because I really feel like I had done well in the opening rounds of the season and had adapted well to the bike and to riding in the MXGP class. The plan now is to try and make sure I am as close to 100% for Montevarchi as possible, and challenge up front like I had at every GP previously."

Ne cherchez pas Tom derrière la grille de départ du GP d'Allemagne. Souffrant trop de sa blessure au GP de France, Tom ne participera pas à ce septième GP de l'année.
Tom: "La semaine a été difficile, à me préparer pour cette course. et même si je me sentais plutôt bien en dehors de la moto, la douleur était trop intense sur la piste. J'ai tout fait pour être au départ, mais dès les essais chronométrés, je n'étais pas prêt et les qualifications n'ont rien arrangé. Mon objectif est maintenant de récupérer au mieux pour être prêt à prendre le départ en Lettonie dans une semaine."

Don't look for Tom behind the starting grid for the German GP. Still suffering too much from his injury sustained at the French GP, Tom will not be participating in this seventh GP of the year.
Tom: "It’s been a tough week, trying to get ready for this race and although I felt good enough off the bike, I was in too much pain when riding on this track. I did everything I could to line-up but already in timed practice I wasn’t right and it didn’t get any better in qualification. Now the goal is to recover as best as I can so that I can line-up in Latvia in a weeks’ time"

Un weekend à oublier pour Tom qui n'a pas connu la réussite espérée à son MXGP national, seizième du GP (8/DNS). Prochain GP: Allemagne dès ce weekend.
Tom: "Evidemment déçu de ne pas avoir pu prendre le départ de la deuxième manche. Ma chute a été assez violente et ma moto a été endommagée, je n'ai donc pas pu repartir, mais sinon, je vais bien. Ce n'est certainement pas ainsi que j'espérais mon week-end et c'est dommage car j'ai apprécié d'être de retour en France et de sentir le soutien du public. Maintenant, mon objectif est d'être prêt pour l'Allemagne le week-end prochain."

A weekend to forget for Tom, who didn't achieve the success he hoped for at his home MXGP, sixteenth overall (8/DNS). Next one: Germany this weekend.
Tom: "Obviously disappointed to not be able to line-up in the second moto. It was a pretty crazy crash and my bike was banged up so I couldn’t do the restart but otherwise, I’m okay. It certainly isn’t how I hoped my weekend would go and it is a shame because I enjoyed being back in France and having the crowd support. Now the goal is to make sure I’m ready for Germany next weekend. "

Après un long break, le Mondial reprend le weekend prochain avec le MXGP de France à Lacapelle Marival dans le Lot, sur un circuit où il s'était imposé en 2021 en mondial MX2.
Pour bien préparer la suite de la saison, Tom s'était engagé ce weekend en championnat de France Elite à Gaillac Toulza, où il s'est imposé dans les deux manches.
After a long break, the Motocross World Championship will be back in action next weekend with the MXGP of France at Lacapelle Marival, on a track where he won the MX2 Grand Prixin 2021.
To prepare this event and the rest of the season, Tom competed this weekend in the French Elite Championship at Gaillac Toulza, where he won both motos.
