AsvaNara

AsvaNara Natural Horsemanship Academy in a wild corner of Tuscany🌻

There is a version of childhood that has nothing to do with screens or schedules.

It smells like horses and warm grass, tastes like water from a garden hose on a hot afternoon, and sounds like a group of kids laughing so hard the horses look up. 🐴

We know that feeling. We grew up that way ourselves, with horses that taught us more than any classroom ever did, and with evenings around the fire where time just stopped mattering.

That is what we want to pass on.

At the AsvaNara Kids Camp, children between 7 and 16 spend a week in Tuscany. 🇮🇹
They learn what it really means to approach a horse—not with commands, but with patience. They jump into cool water, sleep in the teepee village, and sit around the fire at night until the shooting stars come out. 🔥

And when they go home, they somehow seem a little bigger than when they said goodbye. 💛

Happy International Children's Day!

🗓️ Kids Camp: August 2–8, 2026
📍 Location: Tuscany, Italy
⛺ Details: Accommodation & meals included

Con gioia,
Nell & Leni

Do you know that feeling?
Your horse is standing in front of a ditch. And you just know: this is not going to end well.

We have been there so many times ourselves.

But what happens in that moment at the ditch rarely has anything to do with the ditch itself. It has to do with everything that came before. 🐴

Before we ever ask a horse to cross a ditch, we start with something much smaller:
🪵 A tarp on the ground.
🪵 A wooden pole.
🪵 A narrow passage.

Not because it’s spectacular. But because it teaches the horse something no ditch in the world ever could:
The unknown doesn't have to be a threat.

We repeat. Over and over.
Until we see it:
Soft chewing.
A lowered head.
A deep breath. 🌬️

And every time, we think: This is exactly why we do this. This is exactly where trust begins. 🤝

The ditch comes later. And when it does, it’s no longer a problem.

👇 We share exactly how we move forward from here, step by step, in the first comment!

AsvaNara means HorseHuman. But for us,
this does not simply mean loving horses.

It means learning.
Learning that true connection
is not built through pressure.

Not through domination.
But through clarity,
trust,
and the willingness
to truly listen.

For generations,
horses have been taught
to adapt.

But we believe
relationship can look different.

That horse and human
do not need to break one another
in order to grow together.

That true partnership begins
where understanding becomes more important
than control.

This is what AsvaNara means to us:
Not mastery.
But relationship.

“Well… this is going great.”

That was roughly my first thought
lying face first in the sand.

A young horse I had known for less than two weeks
had just made one thing very clear:
My plan
was not his.

I thought I was prepared.
What I had not considered
was how much tension

I was bringing with me.
The horse was not being difficult.

He was being honest.

And that is exactly what horses reveal so quickly:
They do not respond to our plan.
They respond to us.

And sometimes,
that lesson
puts you straight in the sand.

At AsvaNara, this is where the real work begins: not only learning to read the horse, but learning to lead yourself with greater clarity.

If you feel called to learn more, you’ll find more information about our program in the first comment.

Easter at AsvaNara looks a little like this 🌿🥚

Time together
Dyeing eggs
Hiding them around the estate on Easter morning
And watching the search begin

Fresh spring air
Horses nearby
A lot of color
And the quiet joy of sharing it all

We wish you a peaceful Easter filled with laughter, light, and simple moments to enjoy 🌷

This quiet winter time invites us to slow down a little.
To pause.
And to notice again what truly matters. 🤍

As the year gently comes to an end,
what we feel most is gratitude.
For our horses.
For this place.
And for all of you who walk this path with us.

We are spending the holidays in a very simple way –
outdoors, in the forest,
close to our thick-skinned, wise herd.

We speak less, listen more,
and allow ourselves to be reminded
of what real connection means.

We wish you a beautiful, peaceful winter time,
with warmth in your heart
and small, quiet moments that stay.

From our hearts,
we wish you a very Merry Christmas
and a gentle, joyful New Year. ✨

We and the horses are thinking of you.

With love,
Nell, Leni & the AsvaNara Team 🐎🤍
