Hello Everyone, It has been one year today 4ht of July 2023 since we were all together in harmony and spirit of Karate-do in Puglia/Basilicata-Italy. The 10th EU IKGA Tournament and 36th EU IKGA Seminar held by us and that brought together for the first time ever, the wonderful continent of Africa, South Africa and Namibia united with the wonderful continent of Europe. This was my greatest joy of all. Today I would like to remind all that not all has been forgotten and I am pretty sure most of you will have still wonderful memories too. I publish some photos but in all it is one project article that has been done by one of my student for his end of high school career exams. He got highest marks for this particular theme. In Karate one cannot get bored ever, but we would need to practice and try to see each other on regular basis. This keeps the flame alive, I reckon. Even though the article is in Italian, surely it can be translated for the ones that wish to understand it. But this is just to say hello to all and wish you a splendid rest of the year ahead with all the karate activities lined up still in 2024. I hope to see you all soon again.

Aiutiamo i nostri figli ad essere capace alla resistenza e non alla parola facile "io voglio". Leggete una bella motivazione dello scrittore Crepet.
Paolo Crepet, durante un evento organizzato dal Pontificio Istituto Teologico Giovanni Paolo II, ha sollevato un punto di vista critico sul cambiamento generazionale, definendo la propria generazione “strana” per la sua tendenza a contestare i propri genitori e, al contempo, a diventare “schiavi” dei propri figli.
L’osservazione riflette un momento storico in cui, secondo Crepet, si è smesso di educare efficacemente, rimuovendo gli ostacoli e facilitando un percorso privo di sfide per i giovani.

Crepet mette in luce una problematica centrale: l’eccessiva indulgenza dei genitori moderni. Concedere ogni desiderio dei figli, per quanto comodo possa sembrare, risulta nella crescita di individui fragili e incapaci di affrontare le sconfitte. Un esempio concreto è quello di un bambino che riceve il doppio dei regali richiesti, alimentando così un circolo vizioso di aspettative sempre maggiori e un’incapacità di affrontare la perdita o il rifiuto. Dice Crepet: “Se un bambino chiede dieci regali per Natale e il genitore per accontentarlo ne acquista il doppio sarà sempre un crescendo di richieste e da adolescente sarà una ameba, sarà un ragazzo o una ragazza che non sa cosa significa perdere”.
Un altro aspetto fondamentale riguarda l’uso dei dispositivi elettronici. Crepet raccomanda una limitazione severa del loro uso, sia in ambito scolastico che domestico. Secondo lui, questi dispositivi isolano i giovani, causando danni nelle loro relazioni e nella sfera affettiva. È essenziale, pertanto, che i genitori diano il buon esempio, limitando anche il proprio tempo sui social media.

Crepet conclude sottolineando la necessità di una sfida educativa contemporanea: assistere i giovani nel loro percorso di crescita, stimolando la creatività, la curiosità e la capacità di lottare per i propri obiettivi. Solo così si potrà formare una generazione capace di emozionarsi autenticamente e di affrontare le sfide della vita con determinazione e resilienza.

GOJU KAI ITALY
Hello Everyone of IKGA, Appologies for the late report and photos which I mentioned to all that I would do.

The 10th European Open Goju Kai tournament and the 36th European IKGA Seminar Combined has finally been realized & concluded.
I am pleased to announce that the two most popular events in Europe IKGA and Goju Kai Karate have been successfully concluded. The 4th of July with the European Tournament held at Policoro (Matera) in the Basilicata Region of Italy resulted a Top Class Tournament with a closing record of 400 participants. The one day full emersion Event saw participants from 18 Nations taking part including South Africa and Namibia. It was not an easy day, like all tournaments are not ever, but it was a first for Host country Italy to prepare and accomplish this tournament. With Diligent preparation and very hard work, this resulted as a great success over and above all aspects. The medal ranking for the day is as follows:

I personally would like to congratulate everyone for their well performance and thank you all for your incredible effort put in competing.
As for the Seminar, the 36th has turned out to be a record breaking too in participants, in venue, in food, in location, in everything. The best one could ask for. It is unbelievable how quick time passes from preparing to the arrival of all and in one week everyone is gone again, but with wonderful memories. I could see the enjoyment in everyone’s faces and this has made me very happy. The resort has complemented all our groups of IKGA for the well behaviour and discipline shown throughout the week of stay. As the week passed by, management got to see all of us work in a special way through Karate practice and left them with a very positive impression of our highly attributed organization. Karate brings people together from all walks of life, more than any other single minded sport in the world. Karate has no distinctions, no colour, no race, no favouritism, but only through hard work and attendance and respect one for the other will you carve your way to success as a single person in sport and in Life. Many roads were crossed in this 2 year preparation of wonderful Karate Event in IKGA we have. I have learned plenty through all of you leaders in each country but most of all what is wonderful is that our bo***ge as Karate Family in Goju Kai has become stronger. My thank you goes to everyone, participants, parents, coaches, organizers, secretaries, etc..You are all special. I would like to congratulate all that have passed their Dan Grading, from 1st to 5th Dan, and a particular congratulation to Joachim Shihan for passing his Roku dan and Mark Adam Shihan for passing his Nana Dan.
In conclusion, Saiko Shihan, Ingo Hanshi and Peter Hanshi have expressed their joy and gratitude as you all well know. Their presence in this memorable Italian Seminar and Championship, will definitely put a strong mark for times to come. These are our pillars in Karate for the past 50 years that have sacrificed their time and energy in maintaining a stable organization till date. We hope to see them again in training amongst all of us, in good health first.
May we always look ahead in life with a smile on our faces, no matter what the circumstances, as long as we keep on trying to do our best, and most of all, TO GIVE YOUR LIFE A PURPOSE…
