🏍️ Day 25 – Dorset Coast ➜ Alfriston | Seven Sisters

* ☀️ We left our campsite on the Dorset coast under beautiful sunshine and headed east towards Alfriston.
* 🏍️ At the Seven Sisters, we discovered that motorcycle parking is free — a nice little bonus! 😎
* 🌊 The main destination of the day: the spectacular Seven Sisters cliffs.
* 🥾 We walked along the clifftops, with incredible views of the white chalk cliffs and the sea, surrounded by sheep and cows. 🐑🐄
* 🌿 A beautiful hike where every turn offered another amazing view.
* 🏕️ We continued to Alfriston, where we found a peaceful campsite in the countryside.
* 🍔🍺 And for dinner… our last burger of the trip, with the obligatory brown sauce, accompanied by some excellent local b**rs. A proper British farewell! 🇬🇧

📍 Fun fact: The Seven Sisters are seven iconic chalk cliffs along the Sussex coast, constantly shaped by erosion from the sea.

🏍️ Days 26–28 – Alfriston ➜ Dover ➜ Calais ➜ Home 🇬🇧🇫🇷🇨🇭🇮🇹

🇬🇧 Day 26 – Alfriston ➜ Dover ➜ Calais

* ⛴️ We said goodbye to England and took the Dover–Calais ferry, booked in advance for just €57 — much cheaper than the Eurotunnel!
* 🌊 One last look at the white cliffs of Dover and then… back to mainland Europe.
* 🏍️ We crossed France heading towards Switzerland, with plenty of kilometres still ahead of us.

🇫🇷🇨🇭 Day 27 – France ➜ Switzerland

* 🏍️ More kilometres through France and into Switzerland.
* 🚧 French motorway lesson learned the hard way: roadworks often mean a temporary 70 km/h limit — and speed cameras are watching! 📸 We eventually received a speeding ticket from the outward journey. 😅

🏍️ Day 23 – Gower Peninsula ➜ The Cotswolds

* ☀️ We left the Gower Peninsula under a completely clear sky, with perfect spring-like temperatures. Not a single cloud!
* 🍺 Today’s main destination: The Farmer’s Dog, the pub opened by Jeremy Clarkson of The Grand Tour and Top Gear fame.
* 🐕 We spent some time in the garden, with surprisingly little queue for food and drinks. The car park, however, was enormous — a whole field packed with visitors!
* 🍔🍺 The verdict? A very good burger and an excellent b**r. Worth the detour!
* 🌳 From there we crossed the beautiful Cotswolds, with its rolling green hills, stone villages and postcard-perfect countryside.
* 🏕️ We ended the day at a lovely farm campsite, with plenty of space and a beautiful green field.
* 🌱 The campsite is eco-friendly: wooden facilities, homemade hand soap and even sawdust used in the compost toilets. Simple, sustainable and very well done.

📍 Fun fact: The Cotswolds are famous for their distinctive honey-coloured limestone villages, which give the whole area its characteristic postcard look.

Highlight: ☀️ Perfect weather, 🍔 Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, 🌳 the beautiful Cotswolds and 🌱 an eco-friendly farm campsite. A very British kind of day! 🇬🇧🏍️

🏍️ Day 24 – The Cotswolds ➜ Dorset Coast

* ☀️ We left our farm campsite under beautiful sunshine and warm, comfortable temperatures. Another perfect day!
* 🏘️ First stop: Bradford-on-Avon, a charming historic town with classic Cotswolds-style architecture. We visited the Tithe Barn, an impressive 14th-century medieval barn.
* 🍔🍺 Lunch at Brewery Tap in Blandford Forum: an excellent burger and very good b**r in a fantastic brewery-style setting. Definitely worth a stop!
* 🌊 Then we headed to Durdle Door, one of England’s most famous coastal landmarks. Plenty of tourists, but honestly… it deserves the hype!
* 🥾 The walk down to the beach was beautiful — and the walk back up reminded us that every downhill walk eventually comes with a price! 😂
* 🏕️ We finished the day at another peaceful eco-friendly campsite, surrounded by countryside, with compost toilets and absolutely nothing around us except silence and nature.

🏍️ Day 21 – Snowdonia ➜ Pembrokeshire | Wales

* ⏰ Up at 6:00 am to pack the tent before the rain arrived. Mission accomplished! 😎
* ⛪ First stop: Cymer Abbey, a 12th-century Cistercian abbey, beautifully located in the heart of the Welsh mountains.
* 🏔️ We crossed a mountain pass near Foel Eryr, with landscapes that once again reminded us of Scotland — rain included! 🌧️
* 🐟 Lunch in Pembroke with an excellent Fish & Chips. Definitely becoming a Welsh tradition!
* 🌊 Then we headed for the spectacular Green Bridge of Wales, a huge natural rock arch carved by the sea.
* 🪨 We also saw the nearby standing stones, crossing part of a military training area. The signs warned of tanks and unexploded am******on, with access allowed when there was no red flag. 😳
* ⛪ Next stop: St Govan’s Chapel, a tiny medieval chapel dramatically built into the cliffs. According to legend, St Govan hid here from pirates.
* 🌊 We continued to Huntsman’s Leap, another spectacular section of the Pembrokeshire coast.
* 🏕️ We arrived at Trefalen Farm, pitched the tent in the rain… and, naturally, the rain stopped shortly afterwards. 😂
* 🌅 Perfect timing for an evening walk to Broad Haven South Beach. Almost nobody around, beautiful light and a spectacular sunset. Worth every wet kilometre!

📍 Fun fact: St Govan’s Chapel is built directly into a cleft in the limestone cliffs. Legend says St Govan used this secluded spot as a refuge from pirates — and supposedly the number of steps changes when you count them going back up! 👀

Highlight: 🌊 Ancient abbeys, dramatic cliffs, a military training area and a deserted beach at sunset. Wales is definitely giving us some unforgettable scenery! 🏍️🇬🇧

🏍️ Day 22 – Pembrokeshire ➜ Gower Peninsula | Wales

* ☀️ We left the farm under perfect sunshine, with temperatures reaching around 20°C — finally a proper summer day!
* 🌊 First stop: Church Door Cove, a spectacular natural rock arch on the coast, reached by quite a few steps. Definitely worth the climb!
* 🏍️ After a couple of hours of riding, we reached the Gower Peninsula, Britain’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

🏍️ Day 19 – Wild Coast ➜ England | Hardknott Pass Adventure

* 🌧️ We left our wild camping spot after a night of non-stop rain, but the morning surprised us with sunshine. Perfect timing to dry the tent… or so we thought 😅
* ☀️ We managed to dry everything, but of course the rain came back and everything got wet again. So the tent went away slightly damp… again 😂
* 🪨 We visited the Chambered Cairn of Cairnholy near Newton Stewart, a prehistoric site with over 6,000 years of history — incredible to think how long ago people were already living here.
* 🇬🇧 Then we crossed into England, officially saying goodbye to Scotland… but the landscapes clearly weren’t done with us yet.
* 🏔️ We tackled the legendary Hardknott Pass, one of the steepest roads in England with gradients reaching up to 30%. Challenging, narrow and intense — but we made it without a single mistake! 💪🏍️
* 🌄 The views from the top were stunning and still felt very Scottish in character — wild, green and dramatic.
* 🏕️ With heavy rain forecast for the night, we opted for a camping pod instead of the tent.
* 🍔🍺 Dinner was a well-deserved burger and a cold Moretti b**r — simple but perfect after such a demanding day 😅

📍 Fun fact: The Hardknott Pass is one of the most extreme roads in the UK, climbing through the Lake District with gradients up to 30% and tight hairpin bends, making it a true test for any driver or rider.

Highlight: 🏔️ Crossing into England, conquering Hardknott Pass and ending the day dry (for once!) in a cozy pod with a burger and b**r. What a ride! 🏍️🍔

🏍️ Day 20 – England ➜ Beddgelert | Snowdonia, Wales

* 🌧️ We left our campsite pod in the middle of a downpour and headed towards Liverpool, where we joined the motorway into Wales.
* 🏔️ We crossed Pen-y-Pass, one of the most scenic mountain roads in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Beautiful views and, luckily, not too difficult to ride!
* 🏘️ We continued to Beddgelert, a charming village surrounded by mountains, and found a beautiful campsite right inside the national park.
* 🏕️ After setting up camp, we headed to a typical local hotel pub for dinner — the perfect way to end the day.

🏍️ Day 17 – Isle of Skye ➜ Inveraray

* 🏍️ We set off together with the two Italian bikers we met at the campsite. We said goodbye at the Skye Bridge — they headed north, while we turned towards Fort William.
* 🦟 And finally… our first encounter with midges! Rossella got bitten, Giorgio somehow escaped. 😂 They’re tiny but incredibly annoying. The mosquito coil seems to help, but a head net is definitely the real solution!
* ☀️ We left Skye under beautiful sunshine. What a perfect goodbye to the island!
* 🏰 Next stop: Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most iconic castles, still under glorious sunshine.
* ⛽🍲 We stopped in Fort William for fuel and lunch — the now-famous Heinz soup, this time overlooking Loch Linnhe.
* 🌧️ Then the weather changed dramatically. At Kilchurn Castle, we met another Italian motorcycling couple from Tuscany in the middle of a complete downpour! We walked together to the castle, which isn’t accessible inside but looks spectacular from the outside.
* 🌧️ The rain continued all the way to Inveraray, where we had wisely booked a room in a traditional Scottish cottage because of the forecast.
* 🇩🇪 That evening we met a German family from near Stuttgart. We ended up chatting together in English on the stairs for ages — one of those spontaneous travel moments that makes the journey special.

📍 Fun fact: Eilean Donan Castle stands on a tiny island where three sea lochs meet. The castle was originally built in the 13th century and became one of the most recognisable symbols of Scotland.

Highlight: ☀️ Saying goodbye to Skye in the sunshine, 🏰 discovering Eilean Donan, 🌧️ surviving another Scottish downpour and 🇮🇹🇩🇪 ending the day chatting with fellow travellers. These are the moments that make a journey unforgettable!

🏍️ Day 18 – Inveraray ➜ Scottish Coast | Wild Camping

* 🍳 We left Maggie’s B&B after a proper Scottish breakfast: sausages, eggs, bacon and beans. Very light and healthy… obviously! 😂
* 🏘️ Before leaving, we explored Inveraray, with its distinctive white houses and black doors — a beautifully characterful little town.
* 🏰 We continued south and stopped at Dundonald Castle, perched dramatically above the s

🥾 Day 15 – Fairy Pools | Isle of Skye

* 🥾 Today we left the motorcycles behind and started walking straight from the campsite towards the famous Fairy Pools.
* 🌄 A beautiful hike through spectacular landscapes, with several kilometres under our boots and views that seemed straight out of a fantasy movie.
* 🌦️ Classic Skye weather: rain, sunshine, rain again… sometimes all within a few minutes!
* 🧙‍♂️ Green hills, streams, rocks and mist made us feel like we had stepped straight into Middle-earth. We were only missing the Hobbits! 😂
* 💦 The Fairy Pools were absolutely worth the walk — crystal-clear pools and waterfalls surrounded by dramatic mountains.

Highlight: 🥾 A day on foot, surrounded by wild landscapes, unpredictable weather and a little bit of Hobbit magic. 🌿🧙‍♂️

🏍️ Day 16 – Isle of Skye | Old Man of Storr & Neist Point

* 🗿 We saw the Old Man of Storr from the road, but decided not to hike up. The weather was looking pretty rough and our hiking boots were still wet from the Fairy Pools the day before! 😂
* 💦 We stopped to admire some beautiful waterfalls and rock falls, then continued north to Duntulm Castle, dramatic ruins overlooking the sea.
* 🌊 Next stop: Neist Point, one of Skye’s most spectacular coastal viewpoints. We walked all the way to the lighthouse, and what a surprise — 20°C and sunshine! ☀️
* 🥪 We had lunch overlooking the sea before facing the uphill walk back. Tough climb, but absolutely worth it!
* 🏕️ Back at the campsite, we picked up some dinner and ate together with other Italian motorcyclists we had met at the campsite. A perfect way to end our last day on Skye. 🇮🇹🏍️

📍 Fun fact: Neist Point Lighthouse, built in 1909, stands at the westernmost tip of Skye and is one of the island’s most photographed landmarks.

Highlight: ☀️ Finding sunshine and 20°C at Neist Point after a day of Scottish weather — plus meeting fellow Italian bikers at the campsite! 🇮🇹🏍️

🏍️ Day 13 – Durness ➜ Ullapool | NC500

* 🌅 We left our beautiful seaside campsite in Durness with no rain — always a good start in Scotland! 😎
* 🏍️ Back on the NC500, with spectacular landscapes, endless views and plenty of Scottish sheep along the way. 🐑
* 🌊 We passed Loch Laxford, crossed the spectacular Kylesku Bridge and continued through Drumbeg to beautiful Clachtoll Beach.
* 🍲 We stopped for lunch in Lochinver, where we heated up a couple of Heinz mushroom soups to warm ourselves up.
* ⏱️ And what timing! We had just finished eating when the heavens opened. Perfect Scottish coordination! 😂
* 🌧️ From there, the weather became a lottery: heavy rain, lighter rain, clouds… then more rain.
* 🏕️ We finally reached our campsite in Ullapool and set up the tent in the rain. Naturally, as soon as we finished… it stopped. Then it started again, even harder! 😂
* 🍔🍺 Time for Plan B: we escaped to the pub for a good burger and a well-deserved b**r.
* ☀️ And because Scotland likes to have the last word, just as we finished dinner… the rain stopped and the sun came out!

📍 Fun fact: The Kylesku Bridge, opened in 1990, replaced the old ferry crossing and is now one of the iconic landmarks of the NC500, beautifully curved across Loch a’ Chàirn Bhàin.

Highlight: 🌧️ Surviving another day of Scottish weather, 🏍️ spectacular NC500 scenery and 🍔 the well-earned burger & b**r that somehow brought the sunshine back! 😂

🏍️ Day 14 – Ullapool ➜ Isle of Skye | NC500 West Coast

* 🐦 After a night surrounded by seagulls and crows — apparently we had pitched our tent right in the middle of their home! 😂
* 🏍️ We continued south along the NC500 West Coast, stopping for lunch at Loch Maree with our now-famous mushroom & chicken Heinz soup. 🌧️ Rain suits on, as usual!
* 🏘️ Quick stop in Shieldaig, then along the spectacular coastal road to Applecross.
* 🏔️ We climbed Bealach na Bà, one of Scotland’s most famous mountain roads. Fog, cold and almost no visibility today, but still an amazing ride Virginie , even filmed us passing through! ❤️
* 🌿 Down the other side, the landscape opened into a beautiful green valley with a winding river.
* 🌉 We crossed the Skye Br

🏍️ Day 11 – Orkney ➜ Kyle of Tongue | NC500

* 🪨 We visited Cuween Hill Chambered Cairn, a prehistoric tomb with an incredibly narrow entrance. Rossella made it through… Giorgio, being a little too tall, had to give it a miss! 😂
* ☀️ We left Orkney with sunshine and, finally, the strong wind had disappeared. Perfect conditions for the crossing!
* ⛴️ Ferry from Stromness to Scrabster: £79, about one hour across the sea.
* 🏍️ Back on the NC500, with our first stop at beautiful Strathy Beach, enjoying sunshine and almost no wind.
* 🏕️ We finished the day at a campsite in Kyle of Tongue, surrounded by the spectacular northern landscape.

Highlight: ☀️ Leaving Orkney in perfect weather and getting back on the NC500 with the Scottish coast stretching ahead of us!

🏍️ Day 12 – Kyle of Tongue ➜ Durness | NC500

* ☀️ Back on the NC500, surrounded by endless and spectacular landscapes. 20°C, sunshine and almost no wind — Scotland couldn’t have been more perfect!
* 🏝️ We stopped at a tiny island with its characteristic little house, one of those postcard views that make you stop the bike just to stare.
* 🌊 Next stop: Smoo Cave, an impressive sea cave carved into the cliffs near Durness.
* 🐟 Lunch at Durness: an excellent fish & chips, eaten sitting on the grass under the scorching sun… next to the Tiger, of course! 😎
* 🏖️ From the campsite we walked towards the beach, then returned through the sand dunes on a barely visible trail. We didn’t get lost — Giorgio always has maps of absolutely everything! 😂
* 👕 For once, summer clothes in Scotland! No rain, no wind, just sunshine. What more could we ask for?
* 🍔 Dinner was a takeaway burger, followed by an evening walk to the headland to admire the sea from the other side.
* 🏕️ Our campsite has pitches right by the sea. We ended the day sitting on a bench, with a gentle evening breeze, crystal-clear water and daylight lasting until late.

🏍️ Day 9 – John o’ Groats ➜ Orkney Islands

* ⛴️ We left John o’ Groats early to catch the 9:40 ferry from Gills Bay to Orkney… except the ferry had already left at 9:30! 😂 Our mistake, so we took the 13:30 crossing instead.
* 😎 No problem — we used the extra time for a little detour to Dunnet Head, the northernmost point of mainland Britain, with its lighthouse, dramatic cliffs and amazing views towards Orkney.
* 🏖️ We then stopped at beautiful Cove Bay Beach near Castletown before heading back to the ferry.
* ⛴️ Finally on board and off to St Margaret’s Hope, our first stop in Orkney!
* 🌉 We crossed the historic Churchill Barriers, built during WWII to protect the British naval base at Scapa Flow.
* ⛪ We visited the Italian Chapel, built by Italian prisoners of war during WWII. A surprisingly beautiful and moving place.
* 🐮 And of course, we finally met one of Scotland’s most famous residents: the Highland cow! 🐮❤️
* 🌊 Next stop: Mull Head, where we walked to The Gloup, a spectacular collapsed sea cave carved into the cliffs. Around 20–30 minutes there and back — absolutely worth it!
* 🛒 Back in Kirkwall, we stocked up at the supermarket and settled into our campsite, where we’ll stay for the next two nights.

📍 Fun fact: The Churchill Barriers were built using hundreds of thousands of tonnes of rock and concrete blocks, creating permanent causeways between several Orkney islands. Today they also serve as roads.

Highlight: 🏝️ Our first day in Orkney 🫶— dramatic cliffs, WWII history, Highland cows and the wild coastline of Mull Head.

🏍️ Day 10 – Orkney Islands | Ancient Stones & Wild Coastlines

* 🪨 First stop: the Ring of Brodgar, one of Orkney’s most impressive prehistoric sites, followed by the Standing Stones of Stenness. Thousands of years of history standing right in front of us!
* 🐧 We headed to Birsay hoping to see puffins, but… they had already migrated. No puffins today! 😅
* 🌊 At low tide we walked across to Brough of Birsay, a little island connected to the mainland by a tidal causeway.
* 🗼 On the island: a beautiful lighthouse, dramatic cliffs and the remains of a Viking settlement.
* 🥪 We had lunch sitting on a spectacular clif
