Korean Kickboxing Association (KKA) is officially recognised as a renewed member of the WAKO.
The KKA President Mr. Kim Hyun delivered an inspiring speech during the GA and from now on we look forward to the participation of Korean kickboxers at the WAKO events.
The Korea Kickboxing Association (KKA) has undertaken systematic efforts to restore organizational stability, normalize administrative operations, and promote the development of kickboxing in the Republic of Korea. The Association has now completed most of the legal and administrative procedures required for normalization and has established a solid foundation for nationwide organizational expansion and future growth.
The association conducted seminars for the Registration System, building an official Association database and also started with Referee and Coach education programs. The main goal is advancing Korean kickboxing in accordance with global best practices.
Beside the General Assembly which was held on 16th May, the Korea Kickboxing Association successfully hosted the Korea Kickboxing Association President’s Cup National Championship, Presidential Inauguration Ceremony, and Future Vision Declaration Ceremony to mark a new beginning and promote the advancement of Korean kickboxing.
The map of the upcoming events where Korean kickboxers are planning to participate are:
· Asian Cup (Kyrgyzstan) – August 2026
· World Cup (Uzbekistan) – October 2026
· Asian Kickboxing Championships – December 2026
The Korea Kickboxing Association will continue to pursue the following objectives:
· Hosting national championships in the first and second half of each year
· Implementation of the nationwide registration system
· Strengthening activities of provincial and metropolitan associations
· Expansion of the national organizational network
· Increased participation in international competitions
· Establishment of a systematic national kickboxing structure
· Building the foundation for rejoining the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC)
