Walking a long-distance trail means constantly measuring distances, elevation, time and weather. But sooner or later, it also means measuring yourself.

The Alta Via Dolomiti Bellunesi is a journey where knowing your own pace, limits and abilities becomes part of the experience. And where the answers you give yourself need to be honest.

Perhaps that is one of the things we bring home from the mountains: a little more awareness of who we are, and of how we choose to move through the world.

Chi gestisce un rifugio sa cosa significa dipendere dalla disponibilità d’acqua. Sa da dove arriva, quanta ce n’è, come usarla con cura e come trasmetterne il valore a ogni ospite che arriva in rifugio.

AKU e collaborano per raccontare questa consapevolezza. Insieme siamo saliti nel Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi, al Rifugio Dal Piaz e al Rifugio Settimo Alpini.

Due Rifugi di Comunità, con storie e identità diverse ma accomunati da un legame profondo con il territorio e con le persone che lo vivono. E dalla stessa attenzione per una risorsa fondamentale in quota.

At home, in Italy, one person uses an average of 215 litres of water per day. In a mountain hut, the estimated amount of water used by a hiker on a half-board stay is 40 litres for the entire day: meals, facilities, hygiene and daily management.

At high altitude, the limits of water become clear: every mountain hut depends on what the mountains can provide, from snow to rain, from springs to glaciers. Gocce di Montagna was born in the huts of the Dolomites to remind us that the awareness we learn on the trails can follow us back down to the valley.
