🌬️Greylag is back! ⛵
For the fifth time, Greylag is taking part in the iconic Vele d’Epoca di Imperia – this year celebrating its prestigious 40th edition!
From 28 August to 6 September, the beautiful Ligurian waters of Imperia will once again host one of the most elegant gatherings of classic yachts in the Mediterranean. And Greylag is proud to be part of this special anniversary edition.
Wood, wind, history and pure passion… we can’t wait to sail among the “Queens of the Sea” once more!

Progettata nel 1928 dal Dr. Thomas Harrison Butler, Greylag fu costruita nel 1932 dal cantiere Anderson Rigden & Perkins di Whitstable, nel Kent.
Appartenente alla classe Cyclone II, è armata a cutter bermudiano e realizzata con doppio fasciame, secondo i principi di equilibrio e simmetria tanto cari al progettista inglese.

Per oltre ottant’anni ha navigato lungo le coste della Gran Bretagna, da Burnham on Crouch al Solent, cambiando diversi armatori e prendendo il nome attuale nel 1947.
Tra il 2006 e il 2007 ha subito un importante restauro presso l’Universal Boatyard di Hamble.

Dal 2014 si trova nel Mediterraneo, dapprima a Venezia e successivamente in Liguria, partecipando regolarmente ai principali raduni di vele d’epoca.
Nel 2022 ha celebrato i suoi novant’anni con una serie di interventi di manutenzione e nel 2023 ha visto il restauro dell’albero e del bompresso.

Recentemente ha ottenuto diversi riconoscimenti nelle regate classiche del circuito CIM, distinguendosi per eleganza e continuità nella partecipazione.
