Cory Wallace, race organizer and 3 time 24 hour racing world champion, has done it again with a fourth win defending his title at the 24 Hour Solo Mountain Bike World Championship in Finale, Italy on Saturday.

Cory rode a colossal 374km with an elevation gain of 9,691m in 23h 27 min to take the win.
It was a hot one for all riders with temps reaching +28C on Saturday.

No stranger to Italy, Cory won his first title in Finale in 2017, his second in Scotland of 2018, his third in Brazil of 2019.

"What a battle, what an atmosphere over here in Italy. Thank you everyone that stood behind and supported this effort over the past days, months and years. It takes a village and I’m very grateful for the team I have in my corner "

Cory was supported by his coach and friend, Luke Way of in Kelowna.

Hi All, We have made the difficult decision to cancel the Okanagan 24 this year.

Due to the lack of racing momentum over the last two years, registration numbers are too low to make this event feasible for 2022.

For those still interested in check our happening in Canmore on Aug 27-28.

Meet Scott Lahrs, our 2019 24-hour solo champion hauling it in with an incredible 16 laps, cycling over 250+km.

Scott, originally from East Australia, now hails from West Kelowna. He’s a husband, a dad, an electrician, an ordinary guy with extraordinary motivation, passion and goals. When Lahr’s is on a bike, he’s on a mission – he’s relentless, he’s unstoppable!

He’s no stranger to 24-hour racing. Lahrs fiercely podiumed his past 6 24-hour events including the 24 hours of adrenaline in Canmore (now known as the Canadian Rockies 24)

Scott hasn’t been dealt the easiest of cards, with a hitch in his pancreas, he proudly represents the Type 1 diabetic community. The trials of managing sugar levels is an added skillset in Scotts bag of racing tools. He may be type 1 but he's all about the type 2 kind of fun.

His biggest stoke of 24-hour racing “The awesome atmosphere, the comradery between participants, and pushing body to the limit.”
Why he loves cycling: “I enjoy the comradery as well as solitude of cycling and being at one with the bike. I also love that I can ride with my kids and people of all abilities - it's an incredibly inclusive sport.”

“It takes a team to race solo" A massive shout out goes to Scott’s support crew – his wife and kids, for keeping the stoke high with every lap.

This African Buffalo was asking if she could sign up a team of 3 or 4 Buffalo in the team of 5 category at the Okanagan 24 🐃🐃🐃🐃🧐?

The answer is Yes! When calculating which age category to go in, take the mean age of your team members and calculate x5.

If you have 6-10 Buffalo (or people) you enter the Corporate category, and you don’t need to be from the same company.

A great way to build some base miles for a 24HR event is bike packing 👌. See new places, meet new people, and the time flies bye when you’re trying to get from point A to point B 😎.

Whether it is a weekend credit card adventure, or a multi day expedition across a foreign country, the training effect is 💯. In the past has found 3 days on, 1 day recovery is a great formula to keep the balance 👌.
