Who doesn't like to get a breath of fresh air along the beach? The Dutch coast is ideal for beautiful beach walks. The North Sea Trail runs along all the countries around the North Sea, from England to the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and Norway. The Dutch part is about 725 kilometers long. This iconic footpath starts in Sluis in Zeeland and runs all the way to Bad Nieuweschans near the German border in Groningen.

Exactly the opposite is happening in the southern hemisphere. There, the winter solstice takes place today and it is the shortest day and the longest night of the year.
