There are encounters that are not born by chance. There are collaborations that are not built with a pen, but with life itself. Ours is one of them.
When Shifu Bernd and I began to weave together our experiences, our schools, our visions, we were not simply preparing a book: we were opening a passage. A bridge between distant traditions, between different languages, between paths that had walked parallel for years, waiting for the right moment to unite.
The Shaolin Encyclopedia we are creating is not a technical work, not a collection of forms, not an archive of methods. It is an act of responsibility. A gesture of transmission. A tribute to all those who have dedicated their lives to this Way.
In Shifu Bernd I found a brother-in-arms: a man who does not seek the stage, but truth; who does not measure value through titles, but through dedication; who does not speak of Shaolin as a system, but as a breath.
Our collaboration is made of respect, of listening, of sincere exchange, of that rare ability to recognize in the other a guardian of the same flame. Every page we write carries two imprints: his and mine. Two different stories, two different cultures, two different paths… yet a single intention: to honor the Temple, the Tradition, and all the Masters who came before us.
This Encyclopedia is our way of saying: “Shaolin lives. Shaolin continues. Shaolin is transmitted.”
And if one day someone, opening these pages, feels the same strength that we felt while creating them, then we will know that our work was not only useful… but necessary.
