Lets face it, if the european parliament will vote for the EU agricultural reform (CAP) tomorrow, we will have no chance of meeting the Paris Agreements or of having any reasons for hope in fighting the climate crisis with an agricultural turnaround. This is extremely important and they are about to f**k it up. The current proposal is a bad joke, where essentially, the ones profiting of the EU subsidies are still big agricultural industries that are killing the planet with monoculture, fossil fuels and huge animal industries. So this will mean higher emissions, even more loss of biodiversity, loss of eco systems, loss of clean water and soil fertility... in short: the ongoing destruction of our climate, our planet, our basis of life. Let us not watch this happening!
I really feel a bit hopeless in moments like this, because tomorrow it will not be us voting, its in the hands of the members of EU Parliament. All we can do is urge them to make the right decision and to keep addressing the need for fundamental and radical agricultural change. This is not a time for greenwashing and empty words.
