This year's Tolkien Olympics have come to an end
It was fun and exciting to be the creator and organizer of this contest aimed at inspiring younger generations with the timeless beauty, wisdom and epic of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien's work.
The "Tolkieniadi" (Olimpiadi di Tolkien) are a project that involved all of my classes, roughly 150 students. The students were given throughout the year about 30 pages of written materials on J.R.R Tolkien's life, his fantastic legendarium with focus on the Silmarillion and the Lord of the Rings.
The students then underwent a 1.5h long test consisting of 45 close answer questions and of 3 open questions. Prizes were a copy of the one ring for the best student of each class and a Gondorian archer set for the best out of all classes.
managed to secure the first prize with an impressive score, it is worth mentioning that many others performed well.
Special thanks to and for the artwork and calligraphy that went into designing the certificate of achievement.
