Results from European Goalball Leagues and Cup Competitions:
🇫🇷🏆 The French Men’s Goalball League concluded last weekend. In a surprise championship run, Bien Hetre 95 claimed the title with 25 points from 10 matches. ASCND Marseille finished second with 22 points, while GC Lyon’s Golden Flash took bronze with 21 points. The league’s top scorer was Elias Ouni, star forward for fourth-placed CSAVH Lyon, with 76 goals. He was followed by Abdelrahmane Martinez (GC Lyon’s Golden Flash, 67 goals) and Julien Dachaux (Bien Hetre 95, 52 goals). 🇩🇪 The top division of the Goalball Bundesliga continued last Saturday with the season’s second tournament round in Leipzig, Germany. RGC Hansa Rostock maintained its impressive winning streak and remains undefeated at the halfway point of the season, having won all five matches with a remarkable goal difference of 62–15 (+47). However, Chemnitzer BC is lurking just three points behind RGC Hansa Rostock, while BSS Ilvesheim sits in third place, five points behind Chemnitzer BC. 🇬🇧🏆 The Sports Insure Goalball UK Shield (a grassroots-level cup competition) was played last Saturday in Nottingham, United Kingdom. Twelve clubs participated in the tournament. Wi******er Kings claimed the title by defeating Bradford Giants 5–3 in the final. London Elephants secured the bronze medal by beating Greater Manchester Falcons 8–2 in the third-place match. 🇵🇹🏆 FC Porto won the Portuguese League title a couple of weeks ago and has now also captured the Taça de Portugal trophy. FC Porto defeated Sporting CP 6–4 in last Saturday’s cup final to complete the domestic double.
