Results from European Goalball Leagues and Cup Competitions:
🇫🇷🏆 The French Men’s Goalball League concluded last weekend. In a surprise championship run, Bien Hetre 95 claimed the title with 25 points from 10 matches. ASCND Marseille finished second with 22 points, while GC Lyon’s Golden Flash took bronze with 21 points. The league’s top scorer was Elias Ouni, star forward for fourth-placed CSAVH Lyon, with 76 goals. He was followed by Abdelrahmane Martinez (GC Lyon’s Golden Flash, 67 goals) and Julien Dachaux (Bien Hetre 95, 52 goals). 🇩🇪 The top division of the Goalball Bundesliga continued last Saturday with the season’s second tournament round in Leipzig, Germany. RGC Hansa Rostock maintained its impressive winning streak and remains undefeated at the halfway point of the season, having won all five matches with a remarkable goal difference of 62–15 (+47). However, Chemnitzer BC is lurking just three points behind RGC Hansa Rostock, while BSS Ilvesheim sits in third place, five points behind Chemnitzer BC. 🇬🇧🏆 The Sports Insure Goalball UK Shield (a grassroots-level cup competition) was played last Saturday in Nottingham, United Kingdom. Twelve clubs participated in the tournament. Wi******er Kings claimed the title by defeating Bradford Giants 5–3 in the final. London Elephants secured the bronze medal by beating Greater Manchester Falcons 8–2 in the third-place match. 🇵🇹🏆 FC Porto won the Portuguese League title a couple of weeks ago and has now also captured the Taça de Portugal trophy. FC Porto defeated Sporting CP 6–4 in last Saturday’s cup final to complete the domestic double. Registration for the Youth (U23) Championships Is Now Open 📬
It is once again time to let young goalball players shine and compete for the European club championship title. 🙌🏆 The EGCA Youth (U23) Championships 2026 will take place from 5–8 November 2026 in Antalya, Türkiye head-organized by Isparta Görme Engelliler SK.
The event’s official website is now live, where you can find detailed information about the tournament, participation fees, club and athlete regulations, and the registration link through which you can register your club for this exciting event. The registration link will remain open until 31 July. However, clubs are encouraged to register as soon as possible, as some participation slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hosts and Dates for the 2027 EGCA Champions League and Women’s Champions EGCA Odivelas Champions Leaguee 🌍🏆
The EGCA Competition Committee has confirmed the following hosts and tournament dates for the 2027 Champions League and Women’s Champions League season. We warmly congratulate all selected hosts and wish them the very best of luck with the preparations and, in due course, the organization of their events.

Results News from European Goalball Leagues
🇳🇱🏆 The 2025–2026 season of the Dutch Goalball League concluded on Saturday with the final tournament of the season held in Utrecht. The tournament ended in celebrations for the home club USV Hercules, as their team Hercules Vredenburg won the Hoofdklasse (the highest division in the Netherlands) with a perfect season. Hercules also claimed the title in the third-highest division. The Netherlands has three divisions in total, with 17 teams participating this season. 🇬🇷🏆 Ifaistos are celebrating the Greek championship once again. The final stage tournament of the Greek Goalball Championships was played last weekend in Thessaloniki between the season’s top four teams. Thessaloniki-based Ifaistos were crowned Greek champions, despite losing their final match of the season 6–8 to Athens side Ionas GC, who finished with silver medals. The bronze medals also went to Athens, as Keravnos secured third place, leaving Kleio Thessaloniki — who also competed in the Champions League — down in fourth.
🇩🇪🏆 Germany’s second-highest division, the 2nd Goalball Bundesliga, wrapped up its 2026 season on Saturday in Nuremberg. Gold medals went to the second team of RGC Hansa Rostock, who won every match of the season. Tournament hosts BVSV Nürnberg claimed silver thanks to superior goal difference and will be promoted to the country’s top division next season. ⏳ FINAL CALL – EGCA Champions League & Women’s Champions League 2027 host application deadline this Sunday
EGCA is still looking for hosts for next year’s Champions League and Women’s Champions League tournaments. So far, we have received:
- 2 applications to host the Champions League Qualification Stage (we need at least one more);
- 1 application for the Champions League Final Stage;
- 1 application for the Women’s Champions League tournament.
We would be happy to receive more applications for both of these.
The deadline for submitting applications is Sunday, May 10. We will decide on the tournament dates and hosts for next season during May.

The 7th edition of the EGCA Women's Champions League will be held in the true goalball city Rostock in Germany from 19th to 23rd August head-organized by Rostocker Goalballclub Hansa e.V..
