Bit late with this one 🫣

But you’ll excuse me on this occasion

Last week taught me how you can fall behind very easily when you don’t plan ahead

Posting content is one current example for me

I didn’t plan or prioritise it and it feel to the back burner

We’re all human and it’s easy to set unrealistic expectations

Thats what happened me last week and paid the price

Last week my priorities was helping my clients, I had loads of calls

I was also busy onboarding two new lads who are joining us this month

Along with other things popping up unexpectedly, something had to give

Lesson learned, I need to plan ahead better

But instead of beating myself up and feeling guilty for not getting loads of things done on my to do list (content being one)…..

I just reset and got back to basics

Nothing good will come from being super critical of yourself

If you have fallen off track with something the last few weeks instead of wallowing and beating yourself is going to solve it

Instead ask yourself this…..

What’s one small action I can take today to get moving in the right direction again?

Keep it small and simple

Think 5-10 min task

Then just build on that

Sweat the small things, cause they lead to the big shifts long term šŸ¤

I hear it a lot from people I’m speaking to

Stressed and overwhelmed all week, then come the weekend they unwind with a few beer or glasses of wine

That’s grand

The danger is in the dose

I’m going to lecture anyone about drinking, there is enough of those people out there

But what I would say is to actually zoom out and question why are you living for the weekend so much?

Is it that your in survival mode Monday to Friday and this is only thing that helps you switch off

The drink in isolation isn’t the problem

It’s the fact you rely on the drink to ā€œunwindā€

The real issue is that you are constantly stressed & in survival mode

Drinking just give a short release from it

Come Monday you have to do it all again

He is more calm, more in control & more time for spending time with family & looking after himself

A friend recently asked me recently if I work with younger lads in their early to mid 20s.

Once I replied with no, They questioned why not as they believed I could be help these men out with my own lived experience

I won’t say anything here to incriminate myself here🤣

But when I look back at myself in between 22-26, I was completely drifting and lost

Working a job I had zero interest in and living for the weekend

My week consisted of too much drinking, Gambling, P**n, binging on netflix and food while chasing the next girl on tinder

None of the things I am proud of

I was telling myself I was ā€œhaving funā€ when really I was doing it to numb out cause I had no direction

On the outside I looked confident, Inside I was insecure

I know there are lads stuck in that cycle right now.

Not depressed, Not rock bottom.

But disconnected, distracted, and knowing they have more in them but don’t know where to start

I’m thinking about testing a small beta coaching group for men between 22-26 who feel like this

Lads who are drifting and want to get their head straight, build discipline, and actually take control of their life.

No fluff, No therapy, No Judgement

Just honest conversations, structure and accountability from a lad who has walked that path and can relate to you
