“These exercises are designed to improve coordination in learning various movements, as well as to refine striking and defensive techniques.
Save it and put it into practice.”

Pros of this exercise:
1. An external focus on the feet and the end of the stick helps transfer force from the foot to the fist.
2. It prevents flexion and keeps the boxer’s attention on rotation.
3. Although it doesn’t interfere with the movement, it helps the boxer develop better balance during punching, as the pole draws attention to weight distribution between both legs.
4. It contributes to developing action capacities.

Cons:
1. The head rotates with the spine, so it doesn’t follow the shoulder or the target.
2. There is very little perception–action coupling in this exercise.
3. It may create rigid movement attractors, reducing the boxer’s adaptability.
4. It might serve more as an attention primer rather than a vital component of skill development

Talking with Jules about tempo during a JAB Intensity class.
-
I’m by no means saying this is ALWAYS the tempo. This is just the tempo I wanted for this particular combo at this particular time.
