About UKH Chess Club:
The UKH Chess club (UKH- CC) is founded by John Sasser and has been led for first time by Abdurrahman Ali Bapir, the second time by Shamal Sabr and Zana Mahmood is the third and the current head of UKH Chess Club. Proudly, we are now a member of the USCF, that's United States Chess Federation, since 2010, recognized with ID number: G6035568. That simply means that we sponsor

chess tournaments of the second biggest chess federation in the world in Kurdistan and Iraq. UKH Chess Club Activity:
UKH- CC will hold a yearly tournament at UKH, and we will participate in the Chess Championship, which is held annually between Kurdistan Universities, also we will participate in foreign tournaments and events outside UKH as much as possible. Current Officers of the UKHCC:

General Rules and Conditions:
1. Candidate should know how to play chess.
2. Candidate has the right to choose only one of the positions.
4. Candidate should participate in at least 75% of the meetings. Rules and Conditions for positions:
1. President: Should have a strong communication skills, flexible with team working. Able to face the oppositions and difficulties, also be able to use Swiss Manager Program, and the president should oversee the tournaments and the events.
2. Secretary: the secretary is responsible of scheduling UKHCC's meetings, participate in tournaments, and register player’s name.
3. Treasury: the treasury should buy UKHCC's goods and needs and care about them, make donations and provide support for the club, and taking the responsibility of accounts.
4. Webmaster: the webmaster should have IT skills; announce every UKHCC's activity, and run Facebook group and networks.
5. Top player: the top player goes to the player who won last year’s championship. He or She should help chess club in the events and courses, and rich them by ideas......................................................
Players Conditions:
1. Players should be from UKH; including staff and postgraduate students.
2. Players should register their names before the deadline.
3. Players should attend the game on time if not he or she will be counted as a loser.
4. Players should know how to play chess even he or she is in beginner level.

UKH Chess Tournament
8th, 9th,10th and 13th of November, 2016
We are proud to announce a new scholastic chess tournament. UKH undergraduate, graduate students, postgraduate students, and staff are welcome to participate in this chess tournament which organized by UKH Chess Club.
Our tournaments will be held in the UKH cafeteria and this event will consist of 7 rounds which will be finished in four days with a game time limit of 20 minutes for each player. At the end of this event there will be trophies for the best players, and the (10 best players will be chosen as a ukh chess team).
who wants to participate in this tournament can write down his/her name through a message, comment or on the paper on the UKH cafeteria wall. "SU- board"
The deadline is Monday 7th of November.

First,
Tomorrow is the first day of the UKH Chess Tournament. Each player will play three three rounds tomorrow, and two rounds on Monday and Tuesday. Period of each match is 50 minutes.

The tournament will be run by international judges from Khanzad chess club. And They will use Swiss Manger program "International Chess Tournaments' by this program"

We are proud to announce a new scholastic chess tournament. UKH undergraduate, graduate students, postgraduate students, and staffs are welcome to participate in this chess tournament which organized by UKH Chess Club.
Our tournaments will be held in the UKH cafeteria and this event will consist of 5 rounds which will be finished in three days with a game time limit of 15 minutes for each player. At the end of this event there will be trophies including (Chess Boards, Cup, and Medals) for the best players.

"Viva UKH Students Team"
Congratulation to UKH Chess Students team who beat the University Of Salahaddin students team in the annually friendly chess match which arranged by UKH Chess Club at UKH, also congratulation to University Of Salahaddin faculties team who beat UKH faculties team.
University of Salahaddin students' team is the Iraqi Chess Championship, but they couldn't beat UKH students' team. UKH team have beat them, and they put a limit to their victories and took a revenge of the last years friendly chess champion which have been arranged under the same title. Viva UKH Students Team.

The UKH Chess Club held its annual tournament before 2 weeks.

Forty-four people, both students and staff, took part in the five-day challenge. Each person played five games during the course of the tournament, with 30 minutes of game time allocated per player per game.

The tournament, which was well supported by students and staff throughout the week, ended off with an official prize-giving ceremony.

Every player received a medal for their participation, while 15 others received additional prizes for claiming the top spots. Among the giveaways were Fastlink modems, chess boards and trophies.

This year, Dean Rashid Begg handed the UKH Chess Trophy to the top female player - Sanarya Akram.
