Marathon Girl of Sikkim Phurba Tamang won Silver medal in TMM2023

Marathon Girl of Sikkim Phurba Tamang from Lingmoo, South Sikkim has won Silver medal in recently concluded Tata Mumbai Marathon 2023 at Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Phurba Tamang came second after Gold medalist runner from USA Darishisha Iangjuh with the timing 03:31:27 in 42 Km marathon run in 25 years - 29 years age category. Bandasharan Marwein from Mumbai came close third and secured the podium.

Tata Mumbai Marathon is one of the top 10 marathons in the world and with the Gold Label, the event has firmly cemented it's position as one of the preferred events world-wide.

TO FORM SIKKIM STATE FOOTBALL TEAM TO PARTICIPATE 2ND NORTHEAST OLYMPIC GAMES FROM 10TH NOVEMBER 2022 TO 16TH NOVEMBER 2022 AT SHILLONG, MEGHALAYA.
The registration will start at 9 AM and trial will kick-off sharp at 10 AM.Players must bring Original Birth certificate along with 2 nos of passport size photograph.

Today, a meeting was held to discuss upon the forthcoming Chief Ministers Football Tournament C Division league with the primary objective of raising funds to cover the expenses of Football camp organised by Yangang Sporting Club.

The meeting was attended by Area MLA, Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa, Area Incharge, Shri. Raj Kumar Basnet, SDM Yangang, BDO Yangang, AE BAC, MOIC, Yangang PHC, Vet Officer, Hon'ble Panchayat Presidents and Panchayat members, Yangang Sporting Club President and Executives.

• It was estimated that ₹ 3,00,00 would be required to successfully organise the football camp.

• The gathering pledged support of ₹ 1,73,000.

• The remaining amount will be gathered by approaching various external sources.
